Ok, it's a ballroom step I do believe. It's where the two partners hold hands and pull away from one another and one partner (typically the girl) will lean so far she slides onto the floor, does a spin thing and then stands up.

Bad bad description...I know, but does anyone know wht I'm talking about? I can't even find a video of it on youtube to show you! Help!

Do you mean she slides under her partners legs? Before doing a twist/spin move to return to standing?

Well, there is something called the "death drop" in swing dance that I used to do....

The hold is on the forearm of the partners. She drops at an angle to the floor and the man usually tucks his one leg behind him for stability. Ice dancers also do this move...

She drops the floor and then man quickly rotates her so that she makes a rotation around his body and returns to a standing position.

They have done this move on DWTS and SYTYCD-I have been searching youtube for a clip, but cannot locate one yet. I know that Doriana Sanchez uses this move in her disco numbers sometimes. I want to say that Neil did it?? And I am almost positive that Benji did as well. I will keep searching and link it if I find it.....

They do what I believe you're talking about at 4:39. They call it a "butt spin." Watch here — www.youtube.com . . . I know "butt spin" is not the right term for it, but I don't think "death drop" is right either. Then again, if you search for "death drop dance" on Youtube, you will see that a LOT of ballroom/swing moves are referred to as "death drop."

Here's another video — www.youtube.com . . . I found this by searching for "drop spin swing dance."

The 2nd video is exactly what I was referring to. I used to compete in swing dance about 12 years ago, and that was what it was called on the East Coast circuit when I was competing....

Great job finding the video!! I was searching everything last night and could not come across one. Hmm....Being that it was called a death drop by my instructors and dance partners, you would think that there would be more video clips of it?! Weird....

I don't know for sure about the straight version, but tucked in is called "The Mop".
