I feel like I should be posting this in the Welcome board because it has been so long since I've been on DDN!

Some of you may remember that I was expecting this past dance season and my due date was the week of recital. I was so worried about missing my recital and was hoping I'd either go early or late! I had a rough pregnancy had a difficult time teaching. I know I posted a few times with my "complaints" lol!

Well, I knew it would happen and it did! I gave birth to my little boy Kelton on Thursday, June 3 at 1:15am...same day as dress rehearsal! It ended up being an emergency c-section as he was breech and that wasn't discovered until 7hrs into labor. I felt pretty good afterwards though, and got out of the hospital a couple days early. So I managed to miss just about the entire recital! We did stop in for a few minutes on the way home from the hospital, snuck backstage at the Saturday show for about 10 minutes, then continued on our way (the things us studio owners will do!). By all accounts, the shows ran very well, and we oversold on tickets for one show! I just saw the dvd and it looked great!

I know I don't know anyone on here very well, but I wanted to post and let everyone know how things panned out. Kelton is almost 8 weeks now, and while I am still completely out of shape, I am more motivated and energetic about the studio than before. As I mentioned, the pregnancy was rough, and everyone was telling me it would get worse once I had him. Luckliy, things have been the complete opposite...I am loving motherhood, Kelton has been awesome and I am so on top of all the studio stuff, I am so motivated and I am just loving life right now. I'm also itching to spend some more time participating on DDN, and maybe getting my butt over to the studio owners board soon (I haven't been able to justify it before, as I tend to read more than I post).

So hopefully everyone here will be seeing a little more of me!

congrats! my little boy was born June 6th, but fortunately recital was over and done with a few weeks prior to that, lol!

Congrats!!!! I had my little boy one week before our recital. I was past due. Luckly, my doctor induced. It was a LONG labor (27 hours to be exact), frantic delivery ( emergency csection because his heart rate was dropping) and difficult recovery for mom ( major complications with my insision) , but my little boy is soooo worth it. Congrats and have fun with the little one.

Congratulations to both of you! I love hearing about the new babies coming. They are a joy. I love having my granddaughter around. They are just the greatest, even with less sleep. LOL

Thanks everyone! I am managing to get about 5hrs uninteruppted sleep each night, then another hour or two on top of that, so I really can't complain!

And I have made it to the studio for summer camps on time every morning for the last two weeks, which I feel is a pretty good accomplishment, lol!

Oh, CONGRATULATIONS!!! Little babies are so precious and then they're precious when they get bigger too!! Enjoy, he will grow so fast!!

Congratulations! That will be one recital you will never forget for sure. And I'm sure your little guy will hear the story many times over of his eventful arrival day!

Congratulations to all the new babies! Nothing like holding a sweet little one. At times I wish my kids were babies again. At least for an hour so I could hold them again
