Shackles by Mary Mary. It's not super fast, but we've used it before. You might be able to speed it up some if you want something more up-tempo. |

Try anything on the mmmm album by Reliant K.
They are a christian band with songs that touch on god and so on but it's not anything that is going to be too preachy or anything so Jazz would be a good discipline for it. |

Check out Christian music on Amazon.com. They have it in rock, rap, etc. There are tons of good songs that the kids will like, too. |

Fast Christian songs are tricky because they often lean towards rock or metal style.
So Long Self by Mercy Me. I did a tap dance to this when I was 11. This is actually a really good song for a jazz dance. Might be your best option out of the ones I'm suggesting.

You Decide by Fireflight is a great song and is moderately fast. It has an edgy beginning, but then softens a bit. I feel this is a great speed for a 10 year old. But I don't know her ability, so she might want to go faster.

On My Own by Barlowgirl is great! I love this song. She might really like this one. And if they change to lyrical for whatever reason, they have a slow acoustic version that is even better.

(Ignore the piano intro thing on the video. That's the poster's trademark)
All Around Me by Flyleaf. Classic. Though I think the verses are a little slow. But the chorus is a good speed.

Have the kid pick out a song, if her mom wants her to do it, then surely the daughter has an idea of what kind of song. |

I LOVE "Are you ready for a miracle"....It was the closing credits of Evan Almighty and I would not leave the theatre until it was done playing...LOL!!
I have also used music by PureNRG and Group 1 Crew in my jazz classes. |

This might be better for hip hop, but I've always loved the song "Ooh Aah (My Life Be Like)" by Grits. Listen here - www.youtube.com . . . |

Look up Krystal Meyers, she is a Christian artist but also but did some remakes too! Check her song "Shine" I think it would make a good jazz dance! Superchick and Jump5 are also Christian groups who have "dance" music. Hope that helps! |

Group 1 Crew is great. They sound like the Black Eyed Peas and they are a Christian group but their songs aren't too overtly religious.
Also try:
Superchic[k]
Family Force 5
Toby Mac
Crystal Lewis |

Sometimes, by Nicole Mullen. She actually has quite a few up-beat songs that would probably work. You can also go to c28.com under the music section, to look up all sorts of christian music, in all different genres. |

I teach dance to all christian music in many styles, and I agree with Group 1 Crew. A lot of great songs there. Let it Roll is fast and upbeat and so is Clap Ya Hands. Also, Grits song Ooh Aah may be a little hard for that age.
Superchick has great songs as well and are a little more girlie.
I hope she does well with whatever you choose! |

Here are some really good ones that I think aren't boring or repetitious:
The Unseen
Me & My Radio
Addicted
(all by Jade Harrell)
Life is Beautiful
Fixation
(both by Press Play)
Headphones (could theme this with kind of nerdy outfit)
Good Day
(both By Britt Nicole)
Music Box (by KGD)Hip Hoppy
Time after Time (by INOJ) not "Christian but the words have dual meaning
Back and Forth (by Lanae Hale)
Everyday (by Jessie daniels)
Faith Is (by Beckah Shae) I used this one with a derby hat, kinda Broadway style
Make some Noise
Shine
(both by Krystal Meyers)
Superstar (by Stephanie Smith)
I love them all. I hope you find something she likes! |
