What would be the average cost of an hours private jazz lesson in the Houston area?

I live in a large city in Tennessee, and I charge $50 for an hour-long private class.

I work in the DFW area and we charge $60 for an hour.

I've seen costs from 25$ - $150 per hour, but that depends on what the lesson is for (competition or instruction, choreography or technique help), how qualified and in demand the instructor is, and if rights to choreography is included or not.

Man I am cheap. I know everyone will say that my time is valuble and I should charge for it. But i love to teach so much and wanted to help this girl so much. I knew she would want multiple lessons, so I only charged 35$ for 1.5hrs ballet tech, 2x/week, with 5$ going to the studio for fee- the mom thought i deserved more so she always paid me 40 though. Teaching is not my main job, so maybe that answers some questions. I live in LA(the state, not L.A.) btw.

I know that you asked for the Houston area, but I am in NJ and I charge $40 a 1/2 hour and $60 for an hour.

In a Viston suburb and my studio charges double the teachers hourly rate so privates from me are $70 with $35 to me and $35 to the studio.

I teach in Central Oregon and the rates vary from $40 to a high of $75 per hour. My studio charges $50 per hour for single private and $60 for semi-private (2 in class)

Miss Sharon, where in NJ? I am going to charge 30 for a half hour this year. My pamphlet says 35, but these are good returning students who want solos duos and trios, so I make it seem as if I am giving them a discount which I am. I could get forty but I am new and am trying to be the cheap studio...right now I teach during the day in a public school...so when I grow and am not teaching during the day I may charge more...???
