I would suggest opening up your musical choices and search for bands/artists that you would not expect that would be good for lyrical. This is just my opinion. After always seeing the same type of music used for solos it gets a little boring so I have always suggested that people do this because that way your solo will be unique and not cookie cutter lyrical. I have used some harder rock bands for pieces/solos and surprisingly, there are a lot of great songs that don't sound like you would expect...that is if you have some time to do some major searching!

Here are some suggestions!
3 Libras- A perfect Circle
How it's going to be - Third eye Blind
Porcelain - Moby
Smile, You've Won - Lydia
Ways and Means - Snow Patrol

Might not be exactly what you are looking for but I have always thought they would work well for that theme.
