Hi There,

I first started Pilates with my ballet studio years and years ago when a guest teacher started classes for the Intermediate/Advanced classes. We did two classes a week for one hour before ballet and we did this for two 6 week sessions during the year. Due to this teacher being really qualified and also knowing a lot about the body from ballet, I walked away with what I think is a pretty good understanding of Pilates "technique". After those classes I bought some DVDS (Gaiam) and have been doing Pilates at home ever since. I'm sort of feeling like I need some life changes and I saw that a Pilates studio in town is having a Pilates Training course in September for mat Pilates.

I would love to talk to a teacher or someone who has done a similar course who could maybe advise me on what to expect, etc.

Thanks so much!

I'm just doing the IMC I've done the first four days and will be going back for another four days.

Go and do the course, even if you've done Pilates to advanced level it's so interesting to really get into the why's and how's.

The first day will be nothing but the basic principals and how they relate to the warm up and after that the essential exercises and how they can be adapted for different issues and variations on them. My head is swimming at the moment.

Just as a side note, I've had problem knee's for years and since I started Pilates and sorted out some hip alignment issues I had they are so much less painful.

I'm doing the Stott technique in Calgary, I really recommend it to you. You can pm me if you want to with any questions.
