Just wondering what the deal is with copyright law in Australia. I'm in QLD, and can't find alot of clear info - for example if I wanted to teach a section of a musical as a performance (with my own chorey and singing, but their words and music) would I have to pay royalties and such? I can find heaps of american info but wondered how it was here as well. Thanks!

You need APRA. It can get complicated depending on the type of performance (for example you usually don't have to pay royalties if it's a charity performance, but the same piece for a non-charity performance you do). APRA should be able to tell you exactly what you need.

Otherwise ask your state Ausdance office. They should be able to help you as well.
