So last weekend I was able to meet some awesome celebs that I love. I was at the Chicago comic con which was awesome. I also met a couple celebs that I didn't know and some who I had seen in movies long ago.

It was exciting meeting Linda Hamilton and James Marsters. He was Spike on Buffy. It was amazing getting to meet him. Linda Hamilton was so nice. We chatted for quite awhile.

Here are the pictures of me with James Marsters and Linda Hamilton.

This all happened on my birthday which made the day even more special.

I met Kat Von D once when she was in town for a book signing. I said something totally foot-in-mouth once I got up to the front, though...still trying to live that one down. Someday I'll be recovered enough to write about it. :P

The first pic is me, the second is my sis.

I've never met a celebrity. My husband though has met hundreds as it is part of his job. I like to hear his stories and his first impressions of them.

I met James Marsters yeeeeears ago. I don't remember much because I was still this quiet, overwhelmed pre-teen but I do remember that he had massive hands. And that it's not quite the same when he doesn't talk with a Brit accent :P I also met Juliet Landau. She's pretty awesome and so so lovely.

I love your hair by the way =)

I've gotten to meet some cool people, mostly through book signings and stuff.

I got to meet Dog The Bounty Hunter. He is every bit as genuine as you see on TV, and oddly, much better looking. The camera doesn't really do him justice.

I got to meet Little Big Town, the country band. I have a picture of Phillip (the red headded one in the band) with James. I wish he was old enough to remember it! James was only about 15 months or so, but that's cool.

I got to meet Bobby Flay. I got to tell him my story about going in to labor watching his show. LOL! He's surprisingly small. Like, I could capably look him in the eye, he's that small. Maybe there's where the famous ego comes from - to compensate for being such a little guy. LOL...

I met Lee Thomas who is a reporter here in Detroit. He gained some national attention for writing about living with vitiligo, and having it and trying to be in the public eye, so you guys may have actually heard of him. He's such a nice guy. And oddly, or maybe not, I thought he was much better looking without makeup, then he was with it. His face was about half white at the time (mostly across the bridge of his nose, and into his forehead), and that's been a couple of years ago, so he's probably majority white by now. His book is called "Turning White", and if you ever have the chance to read it, do. It's fantastic. I read it once, and then immediatly started over reading it again, just because I needed that much more time to think on what I'd just read. :)

I met the guy that owns the Ritz Carleton Hotel chain too. JERK. Total jerk. Met him at a horse show. At this particular show, it is tradition that anyone that's intending to show in the grand champion class (the winner then being the "world champion" for the breed) prints t-shirts and buttons and things with their horses name and picture, and then you give them out at the show, thus generating excitement and (with luck) support for your horse in this class.

It is also tradition that the kids walk around the show grounds, and collect up as much of that stuff as they can. And why not? The kids scale the grounds from one end to the other, for days on end, you want to get your horses name out there, the best way to do it is on a kid.

It's been a while, so I don't remember details on why, but I remember the guy just berating me for asking for a shirt, or something like that. I was 8.

JERK.

A few weekends ago I met Anthony Daniels (C3PO in all the star wars movies) - Star wars Celebration V was insane with all the stars that were there from the different movies & cartoons. But he was just walking around Hollywood studios when I met him & I got to sit 4 rows behind George Lucas & sort of next to Seth Green while he was waiting for his entrance.

About 4 years ago I ran into Jennifer Coolidge (Am. Pie, Legally Blonde) while shopping down in New Orleans.

When I was 19 I met John Mahoney (Frasier) he was in a Play here in Chicago & I got to meet him & the cast in a private discussion with about 10 other people. That was neat.

-as a sl hijack. I'm totally bummed I wasn't able to attend the chicago comic con, the timing didn't work out. But one of the attendees, Phil Ortiz (simpsons artist) is at my work today. :D

I used to work for a TV company, so I've met a lot of celebrities, but I wasn't impressed by many of them. Maybe Edward Villella? When I was a kid, my mother went to a meet-and-greet with Patrick Duffy (from Dallas), and I tagged along because he was also the man from atlantis. But even at that age, I was completely unimpressed.

OH WAIT!! I totally met Los Del Rio at the Macarena release party. How's that for exciting?

Let's see... who else? Trent Reznor. Marilyn Manson. I was like 2 feet from Prince, but I never actually talked to him because he was always completely surrounded by bodyguards. One of my friends dated Mickey Rourke and Jose Canseco (who hasn't?).

I met John Houseman years ago at an artist lecture series that my university hosted. Not impressed. Old and stuffy and full of himself.

I met Ted Nugent when my brother won a free guitar lesson from him through a promotion that the local radio station and music store put on. He got the lesson and a backstage pass and we got front row seats and we went backstage after the concert. He's.... pretty arogant in that rich, redneck way. He kept calling me 'Sister'. His girlfriend (at the time) was ok. Nice but way overdressed and over made up.

I got to go backstage at a Krokus concert. You may remember them as the band who played Ballroom Blitz. That song was featured in Wayne's World. They were kind of cool. I got invited to ride on their bus to the next concert destination, but I had school and work and couldn't just drop it all to become a groupie. :D

My mom would be insanely jealous of you, OP. James is one of the few celebs she considers 'foxy.' (yes, she still uses that word) How awesome you got to meet two of your favorites on your birthday!

Gahhh I would give my left arm for the chance to meet Linda Hamilton. The Sarah Connor of Terminator 2 is one of my favourite film characters of all time, and I really admire Linda Hamilton's performance in that role.

When I worked as a theatre usher, I got to meet Brian May and Ben Elton, because I was working on the We Will Rock You musical. Meeting Brian May and Ben Elton was probably the high point of my life so far. I have a lifelong dream to meet John Farnham, Dave Grohl and Stephen Fry.

Woah, you guys have met some really cool celebs! Panic, I'm rather jealous of your list!

I've mostly met people who are considered "celebrities" in what they do, rather than worldly known.

I met Joanne Doyle and Breandan De Gallai, who were the lead dancers in Riverdance at the time I saw the show.

When I first got into Speedway my dad got me a book to get riders autographs in. I once went to the British Grand Prix Press and Practice day and got most of the series riders autographs. Including 6 x World Champion Tony Rickardsson. I used to have a few main favourite riders and every time I saw them I'd ask them for their autographs. Obsessed much. :P

Others are my favourite bands who most people won't have heard of;

Trivium (Four times) - Really lovely guys! The lead singer remembered me and walked past this guy I dislike and said: "Hey! How are you!? I haven't seen you in ages!" I really taken back by that. Then we went to a 2nd show on the same tour and they thanked us for coming out again, which was nice.

Machine Head - I've never seen people freak out so much before meeting anyone before! These guys I was with on a street team were SO fanboy and starstruck before the band had walked in. It was quite funny actually. Their tour manager actually had us wait backstage as the lead singer/guitarist had got stuck in the city doing press work and was caught in the rush hour traffic.

Kamelot - I'm extremely fangirl when it comes to the singer of the band. I thought I saw him walk past a McDonalds in London and made my mom follow me as I power-walked after him. We lost "him" amongst the busy London streets, and I don't think it was actually him. The Keyboardist kept going to the Costa Coffee, which meant he had to walk past the queue everytime. Other members walked past too, but it was really funny that EVERYONE knew who they were, but respected their privacy and just let them get on with what they were doing. We asked the Keyboardist for a picture as some people were also getting pictures taken, and he was so nice about it. After the show I made my mom wait with me in the pouring rain to try and meet the lead singer, and other band members. She really didn't want to stay, but I was persistent and forced her to, proclaiming that "they would be out in a minute." We ended up getting pictures with all of them, including the singer, who I read doesn't come out much. It was COOL. :D

Madina Lake - Some of the nicest people I've ever met. They were really nice and genuine and really approachable. I remember telling the lead singer about how I didn't think I was going to make it to the concert as I got horribly lost and hadn't a clue where it was. And he was telling us about how he doesn't wear shoes onstage anymore 'cause people kept stealing them. Then he told us that the venue wouldn't let him stage dive at the show. haha. It was all kinds of random stuff like that. It was a good night.

Other bands I met at signings at Festivals;

DevilDriver
Five Finger Death Punch
Epica

Oh, and we ended up on the same flight as Dame Judy Dench coming back from Glasgow. She kept herself to herself but was quite pleasant. A little girl dropped a sweet on the floor, and she picked it up and gave it to her and made a witty comment of some sort. Can't remember exactly what she said now.

I think that's about it. Hopefully I'll stumble across more in the future. :)

Claire.

Pictures;

1.) Trivium
2.) Machine Head
3.) Roy Khan (Singer in Kamelot)
4.) Matthew Leone (Bassist in Madina Lake)
5.) Epica
6.) DevilDriver/FFDP Signing. (Dez Fafara from DevilDriver is who I was speaking to.)

Love your pictures and LOVE LOVE your hair. You are adorable! Sounds like you had a birthday to remember for sure.

I've met a few celebrities and I am pretty unimpressed too. I usually think, hmmmmm well nice guy/girl but big deal. I've met Johnny Depp in the 1990's and sat in a sports bar and watched the OJ Simpson verdict with him. He was soooo nice, and short.

I've also met Diana Ross (diva diva diva), James Brown (soooooo incredibly kind), Sugar Ray Leonard (very stuck on himself), stood right by Joe Montana but he was covering Super Bowl XXX and I couldn't actually talk to him, met the band Escape Club, Jenna Lee Nolan (very nice and tips well), Dick Van Dyke (omg I was a little giddy about meeting him and he's so generous with his time and loves to tell stories), Alice Cooper (great guy that does so much for Phoenix charities), Gary Hall Jr. (Olypmic Swimmer and SUCH A JERK!!), now his dad Gary Hall Sr. is a nice guy and also swam in the Olympics, Gin Blossoms (only saw them up close really didn't speak to them), and a lot of professional athletes. In general hockey players are the sweetest guys and generally family men that like to hang out watching movies, playing in the pool with their kids, and shooting a little pool.

My husband met Pat Morita on an Alaskan cruise and said he was drunk the entire trip. I had a friend that dated Charles Barkley for awhile. I also have several people in South Dakota that met Kevin Costner when he filmed Dances With Wolves and they own a casino in Deadwood, SD. I have heard both are very very nice, but the people that live in the midwest are usually pretty easy and nice to get along with.

Okay, so...I didn't meet him, BUT I was so close to him I almost died. That's right. JOSEPH GORDON-LEVITT. You best be jealous. Also, while I was stalking him (this was just yesterday, mind you) Christy Carlson Romano walked by! It was a heavenly day.

Oh, and on Thursday, Gossip Girl was filming right outside my window. I saw Dan and Rufus and Serena and Eric and that new girl... Holla!

It has been cool hearing other people's stories and seeing the pictures.

Thank to the people who liked my hair. I only do my hair like that for conventions or if I am going to a club. Definitely can't have hair falls and cat ears at work.

I know celebrities are people just like you and me, but it is so neat getting to meet them. I met some other people at the convention and saw others. I saw the people who played Xander and Glory from Buffy. I really wanted to meet Xander, but whenever I tried to get in line they were cutting off the line saying he was about to take a break. I met the people who played Mike and Violet in the original Willy Wonka. I also met some guy from Jackass from I have no idea who he actually is. Some other people I saw from far away were some Battlestar Galatica people and Adam West.

I was so upset that Patrick Stewart had to cancel. He had a scheduling conflict and couldn't make it. I had really wanted to meet him. Some people I wanted to meet seemed to always be on break.

I definitely had a good birthday. The day after I got strep throat and had a terrible cough. I decided to just tell people that I got sick from James Marsters even though I don't think he was sick.

The entire cast of Touched by an Angel, like in the late 90's when I was about 10! I lovedddd that show when I was little, haha. And Jackson Rathbone and family are close friends of ours, so him too, although I guess I don't think of him as a mega-celebrity. He's just Jay to us :)

I've met a lot of band people no one has ever heard of haha. I mostly came in to back Claire up, I've met Madina Lake a few times, and oh my god, I don't think I've ever met more genuine, sweet guys.

I find a lot of band dudes are super sweet and fun- they genuinely adore their fans. I've only met a few bands who were total jerks, but whatever.

I've never really been super interested in meeting actual "celebrities"- probably because I don't really care, haha, but my best friend's auntie is friends with Owen Wilson and OMG I want to go hang out with her so I can meet him! (She's also dating the dude from Castle.. uh, Nathan Fillion?) so I guess since I've met her aunt loads of times, I've met people by association? XP Just kidding.

Ugh, I just realized I'm name dropping. Eek.

Yeah, haha. She went to the Emmy's with him!

The picture above is him and Kelsey's Auntie Kate!

Funny story (and highjack, I'm sorry OP), but my best friend was absolutely OBSESSED with the show Castle through the whole first season, not knowing her auntie was dating him. Then she talked to her auntie, and she's like "Oh, by the way, I'm dating a new guy." "What's his name?" "Nathan Fillion" so Kelsey (best friend) started freaking out because she's pretty much in love with him, haha.

Her aunt lives in LA, so she's trying to figure out a way to go "visit her aunt" /cough meet nathan.
