Last night I took a pilates class for the first time in five years. (When I previously took pilates it was just for a few weeks, at a summer dance intensive.) I absolutely loved the class except today my tailbone is SO incredibly sore I can barely sit down. :( I did use a mat, but I guess all of those repetitive moves where you rock back and forth and find your balance (sorry, I don't know the terminology) really hurt me.
I injured my tailbone about 10 years ago and it took nearly 6 months to heal from it. I don't remember having an issue when I took pilates 5 years ago..

My question is: did anyone else have this tailbone pain when they first started? Did it gradually go away? Is this something I can build up a "tolerance" to somehow? I'm eager to take this class regularly, so I'm hoping this isn't a persistent problem for me.

Thanks for any tips/advice! :)
