First day count: 2100! Yipee! WE CAN DO IT everyone!
Edit: but basically, I'm a total cheater with the fiction thing. I mean it IS fiction, but it's loosing bases on on the last two years in my life. Like there's a lot of real-life in there. But it's still not completely true so it's okay right???? right??? Oh god I hope so...or else I'm just a total failure. |

My count for Day 1 is 2381 words, I feel that today has been a success. |

2311 words on day 1, but that was easy because I had a day off. Today it's work till 4 pm and dance class from 6-8 pm (plus two hours commute in total). I'll be lucky if I make it to 400 words today.
Anyone else who doesn't like being told I had an 'unsuccessful day' if I didn't get my 1667 words? If I write 400 words today I'd consider that quite a feat!
Oh well. 50,000 words, here I come! |

I think I have a very vivid imagination. I am just writing what comes into my head. 4677 words down.... |

imadancer2: as long as it's basically a fictional narrative, you're not cheating. My characters are made up and the actions are made up, but it takes place in Tokyo and I use what I know of real life. I mean, it's the only way I can make it remotely believable. It's still fiction in my book.
I think you'll be fine, but you can always check: www.nanowrimo.org . . . to see if you're a NaNoRebel! |

I wasn't going to do it, because my writing is kind of awful and I am like a desert of ideas (ie. I have none, and you can have that crappy metaphor free of charge!) - but I signed up to read some of the stories you guys have started and I am a bit inspired.
I may give it a try!

I'm so far behind I think I'm ahead! Day 2 and word count? Big fat 0. I can't start until Thursday, but I might be able to squeeze in time tomorrow, just chances are very narrow that I can. I even thought to myself, 'why even bother?' but then I slapped myself and said, 'girl you been looking forward to this for months, don't give up!'
I talk to myself a lot, lol!
Edit: I'm PurpleJS35 on the site. I'm trying to finally write that North American antebellum fiction. |

Bah, I'm failing at this so far. And I hate that the site has to remind me that I'm failing. I know, website, I didn't meet my word count for the day. Please don't rub it in my face.
Current word count at the end of day 2: 2367. FAIL.
I need to get myself together with the proper writing environment tomorrow. Who has a specific environment that they have to write in? I can write anywhere as long as I can listen to Owl City and have a cup of tea. Otherwise, I'm a big fail. I need to work on that for tomorrow. |

Day 3 and I'm at 5188 words. I still have no idea where it's going and at the moment I'm just typing what comes into my head in the hope that my subconscious will come up with an awesome plot all by itself. Alright, I've written 5188 words of random gibberish.
I'm sure there's a plot in there somewhere, I just haven't found it yet.
I can write anywhere while listening to anything. I'm able to pretty much block everything else out and just focus on what I have to do. |

Finally started tonight. It was the first bit of free time I had. 1,026 words so far. The great thing is I might have more free time later tonight to add to that word count, so we'll see. |

I'm behind, but I think I'll catch up. I did 1737 today. Add that to yesterday and I have 2763 so far.
I plan on doing a lot two days this coming week, maybe three, we'll see. I wish I'd known about this years ago before I had a kid, lol! |

I'm about 9k into my book and I hate it. I know where I want to go plot-wise but I'm having a hard time with the transitions. Why did I decide to make this even more challenging by choosing to write in a genre that doesn't come easily for me? I have to pull myself together and get back on track.

I did waaaay better today. I'll tally my word count for the day closer to midnight, come back then and let you all know where I am. But I LOL'd because when I first put in how many words I had that first day it told me at the rate I was going I would finish my novel like next year in October. After my second time they said I would finish by next year in March. And then earlier when I put in the words I had so far they upped it to January of next year. I don't even know why I think that's hilarious, but I do.
Edit: Word count so far is now 8399. That's it for today. I'll be able to write more Tuesday and MAYBE Wednesday, so I'm going for broke those two days because Thursday and Friday might be a no-write day for NaNoWriMo. |

Rosalinde...theres no actual sex whilst dancing...although I am sure it can be arranged?! LOL
Sure I will make it available to anyone that wants a read when the event is over.
I've had a few days off and running behind and now I have to take Mum shopping so there goes the rest of my evening. Knew uni work would catch up sooner or later |

I'm just under 30,000 words now and can't believe it. I've forced myself to write every single night since I started (and late at that) and I've just been trucking along with this thing. I'm always embarrassed about what my books are about so I don't ever tell anyone. There hasn't been any sex yet, but there's been plenty of sexual tension, haha! |
