I can't believe I'm actually AHEAD. I'm at 33,711 words right now, and I only need to be at 30,000. This is unbelieveable. I was so behind...and then a few days ago I had a lucky 6,000 word day. I was literally up until four in the morning writing because I couldn't keep my thoughts in my head. Which was great, because now I'm ahead, yay. It still feels so weird to actually be on top of things, however. I'm not used to this, lol.

Also, I feel really bad for my main character. She just suffered an incredibly embarrassing situation. Poor thing.

48+K and there has been sex. Yup, I'm so not going to be telling my students where I keep my stories.

My mind is firmly back in the old gutter again because I'm at that stage again. Not sure how graphic I'm going to be, let's see what my MCs are prepared to show me. Meh, I sound like a voyeur and my MMC is telling the story (1st person narrative). I wonder if he's going to shut me out and mind my own business ...

Man, I was just feeling good about my 42 763 and then I come here and see how far ahead you ladies are!

I've had 2 sex scenes- one with the ex-boyfriend, the other with the ex in a flashback when he was still the boyfriend. And I felt super awkward writing both of them, especially with my boyfriend sitting three feet away from me playing video games.

Him: "What are you writing about now dear?"
Me: "Ummm...nothing."
*10 minutes later*
Me: "Hey, you wanna go to bed early tonight?"

Just got over 40,000 words. Starting to wonder...will I? Will I really?

Celebrian: The last 10K isn't too bad, especially if you start seeing the number of words still to be written go down from 5 to 4 figures. You have a week left, sure you can do it!

the week (I was going to say 'month' but there's not much November left now) adding extra words and maybe do a bit of diet-editing (I know we're not supposed to yet, but I edit my work every day).

I actually have 2000 words more than I put in my word count. It's kind of a reserve if I don't get to write. Two weeks ago I was just under 5000 over my word count but I've had a few bad days and I can just sneak some words from my spare WC. I wonder if there are more people like me: I've heard of word count padding, but what have I been doing?

Ahhh I am now behind...with Thanksgiving prep and all that, and having ABSOLUTELY NO MORE IDEAS FOR MY STORY, I fell behind...bah!

That's okay though, because I am staying up for at least the next two hours...Jon has to be up for work at 2:30 (yay Black Friday!) so I am staying up to make sure he gets up in time for work. That leaves me with almost an hour and a half more to write. Maybe I'll get caught up...

Yep. All you have to do is c&p your 50 grand (or more) into the word count validator. I'm by no means finished my story, but I finished my 50 grand.

Finally got around to verifying today. I'm a WINNER!!!

Story ain't done yet, in fact said story sucks because it needs to be edited to within an inch of its life and by the time I'm done with it it won't at all resemble what I just copy and pasted into the validator, but I DID IT! AHHHHH!

The ending really sucks, and is completely lame, and doesn't explain anything, but I don't care! I reached 50,000 words! I can go back and make it sound better later!

Dude!!!! I am so doing this next year (unless I forget!!!). This is such a cool opportunity- I'm amazed I haven't done it before. *hangs head in shame* Next year!!! I hope you all did really well and met your goals!!
