So, everyone's told me I couldn't go blonde, but I've ALWAYS wanted to try lighter hair. My hair inspiration is Emma Watson. She has very dark eyes and brows like me and I THINK a similar skin tone, and she pulls it off. But that might have something to do with her very attractive face... ha. I have a prominent nose and I don't know if that works better with dark hair.. (the whole "maybe ethnic but not really at all" thing).

I like all of these pictures of Emma watsons hair... but I'm pretty sure I could never pull off the lightest (last one).

Oh, the first two pictures, are of me with straight and curly hair. My hair is curly/wavy 95% of the time.

Also... I don't have much money... I know ya'll will tell me to go with a professional... but is there ANY way I could use one of those two step hair color processes and make it look good? I've highlighted my own hair before and it actually turned out quite well...

SO... opinions anyone?

I think you could. I covered your hair with my hands on my computer screen and if I didn't see your hair before, I would;ve guessed that you would be a blond. However, I don't think you would suit really light or platinum blond, more just like Emma Watson's color in the pictures you have of her or even a tiny bit lighter.

I have never dyed my own hair just my mom's and a friend's before, so I don't know too much about the dying process.

Hi there, I have similar hair colour to yours, and I got highlights done in a salon a few years ago, they were lovely at first but when they started to grow out I went back to have my roots done and I got lighter then the third time I went to have my roots done, lighter again and so on, and more of my hair got coverage, in the end it was just to much for me and very expensive to keep my dark roots covered, so I went dark again, and learnt my lesson. Just telling you my experience, good luck ;0)

I think you would look great with some highlights, maybe some that are sort of blondish brown (like a caramel color) or copper. But I don't think you would look as pretty with blonde all over. I like Emma's hair in the first 2 pictures, but I don't know if you could pull it off. To me, you two have very different skin colors, and I think your's suits dark hair more :)

Yes you could. But. if your hair is curly the bleach would just make it more dry. So you would have to care for it more. Your Brown hair is gorgeous :)

Yes I think you could go blonde, but i think Cheryl Cole's red hair would also suit you or Joss Stone's hair is red streaks which personally i think is really nice i love it.
if you type down joss stones red hair on to google you can see her hair also do the same for Cheryle Coles

Well... this page doesn't get a lot of action so I figured I might as well post an update. I went to get my hair done and got exactly the opposite of what I wanted. it is a little lighter but not as much as I had hoped and she lopped it all off. I haven't had hair this short since the 8th grade!

By the way, has that ever happened to anyone? I went in for trim, lighter hair and to get bangs, and walked out like this! She kind of refused to give me bangs and chopped it all off. How does one just cut off 5 1/2 inches?? (it was top-of-boob length) I couldn't stop her, either, i felt the one big snip and started freaking out. She did everything super fast and left me with "You'll get used to it. It looks so much better"

Well, here it is, what do you think? (sorry for the face) Image hotlink - 'http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v47/sandimas59/Photoon2011-03-26at1810.jpg'
Oh, well... it's just hair.

Oh I'm sorry! That's why I go to the same hairstylist who listens and discusses things with me because I've had too many thing that were no where what I wanted. Plus I've got in situations like that and just don't know what to say because I'm not comfortable enough to tell them that's what I wanted.
I still think it's still pretty though! If it's not light enough I would go back (if it's not too late) to see if you can get it fixed. Of course you can't really do anything about the cut, but maybe you can at least get the color you want.
