Hey, so we all know about the age old debate about leather vs canvas ballet shoes. But a girl in my class started wearing satin ballet shoes in class.
Anyone have any opinion about these? Anyone try them?

None of the major mainstream dancewear sellers on-line in the USA sell satin ballet shoes (xcept for small children). I have never seen anyone wearing satin ballet slippers in the USA (other than deshanked pointe shoes).

There do seem to be some places where one can buy white satin ballet shoes, ready to dye. This would be useful for certain costumes.

Apparently, satin ballet shoes work a lot like canvas.

I have never seen any dancers using Satin ballet shoes for class except for pointe shoes.

Oh gosh I wasn't gonna get any satin ones. I swear by leather ballet shoes (well except my pointes which are satin, come to think of it).
I was just wondering if anyone tried them or if there was any advantage that made them different than leather or canvas shoes.
