dance belt - too much pressure? en>fr fr>en

Locked by Chaconne (182529) on 2010-11-24 12:04:19 This is degenerating into personal attacks. I'm going to lock it before I end up banning someone.

My dance belt (Capezio padded 5930) is the correct fit for me (medium - size 32 waist). When I put it on I have my testicles and penis pulled up front and pointing up as we're supposed to. Generally it all feels okay. But I notice after wearing it after an hour or so my testicles get pushed inside my body cavity and it really bugs me.
Any other guys have this problem, or know how to prevent this?

First of all, try grabbing more scrotum and pulling further up to get your testicles above the cavity area. If that doesn't work, time to buy a large dance belt. Capezios are famous for being too small, so even though you are wearing the theoretical correct size, you might be happier in a bigger one.

OMG you're not supposed to PULL anything! That's absolutely terrible advice. PLUS, it would not solve the problem. There is a muscle that retracts your testicles and that has nothing to do with your dance belt. There is a very common problem called retractile testicles where your testicles retract fully - sometimes uncomfortably - into your pelvis. www.mayoclinic.com . . .

This has very little to do with your underwear, and it CERTAINLY will not be helped by pulling your scrotum harder. It's generally considered a condition you just have to live with, but google "retractile testicles" and you'll find a few suggestions (although most of the suggestions aren't applicable to dance class). But as I said, this is a really common issue, so at least you're not alone in your discomfort.

And for the record, it's not a rule that you must dress your junk upward. You should arrange your penis and testicles in whichever way is most comfortable for you.

Now I have a question for Doctor_dancebelt. Are you a dance teacher? Dancer? Do you even KNOW any dancers? Or do you just like dance belts? Because your advice sucks.

Panic:
I'm a mostly retired dancer, now teaching on a daily basis. I don't appreciate your comment that my advice "sucks". I have first hand experience with the problem bbb posed, and my advice has worked for me.

Your Mayo Clinic link refers to a problem experienced by pre-pubescent boys, (after puberty it's called "ascending testicle") and it suggests guiding the offending testicle back into the scrotum, which is pretty much what I said in the first place.

You really couldn't be more wrong. An ascending testicle is one that descends and then PERMANENTLY retracts into the groin. Retractile testicle is exactly what he described. www.lmgtfy.com . . .

So you claim to be a dance teacher, and your advice is "try grabbing more scrotum and pulling further up". Seriously? Are you sure you're not just a perv with a dance belt fetish? Because not only does your advice suck, it is potentially harmful. No legitimate dance teacher tells a student to pull on his scrotum. And speaking as someone who has experienced retractile testicles during a dance class, I will also say that it is perfectly obvious that your advice could not possibly prevent the testicles from retracting. No matter how high you pull them, the dance belt does not come with a mechanism to lock them into place. As I already said, there is a muscle that retracts the testicles - so pulling them up does absolutely nothing (beside the fact that he specifically said HE ALREADY TRIED THAT).

And I would LOVE to know what dance studio would hire a guy whose online alias is doctor dancebelt. Especially one who publishes "erotic" photos of himself wearing said dance belts. If you truly are a dance teacher (which I absolutely do not believe), you should stop using terms like "bulge" and "sausage fest".

Panic, I have never published erotic pictures of myself wearing a dance belt, nor have I ever titled a thread "a question about penises". Can you claim the same?

Attacking other members is a terms of service violation and you are coming very close to that line. Why don't you piss off and mind your own business?

I stand by my advice.

You thought we didn't know about the semi-nude dancebelt photos? People on this site like to snoop around. Especially adults who are concerned for the safety of the younger members.

You stand by your advice? OMG seriously? Of course you've read my mayo clinic link, so you realize that nowhere on that site does it suggest pulling up one's scrotum as a method to alleviate retractile testicles. But you stand by your advice anyway? That's actually hilarious. Let's see... Who am I going to trust? Doctor Dancebelt or the Mayo Clinic? hmmmm...

You can snoop the entire internet if you choose, but you won't find any pictures of me in a dance belt. This has become a personal attack.

Sorry my question has caused such a fight. Get off it guys.
I was hoping someone might have experienced the same problem and had a suggestion. I looked at the links but there's nothing there to help. I'm an adult not a boy so it's not a prepubescent thing. I also don't think I could pull up any farther and get them to stay there. I tried on a larger belt but it didn't give me tight enough support. I was thinking if there was something to put around your testicles to stop them from being pushed inside you that would work, but I don't know what. If it is a common problem someone must have advice. Some guys wear really tight dance belts and tights and it's obvious their testicles are definitely not pushed inside them. And I'm not going to just walk up and ask them.

No, there is nothing you can do about it. No device, no underwear, no nothing. Yes, it is a common problem, and everyone just lives with it. You wouldn't even WANT a device that holds them in place because that would be incredibly painful with the muscle trying to pull them up into your pelvis.
