I have plenty of photos of dancers doing the Sword Dance, but I was given this picture of other dancers, watching a couple of kids doing the Sword Dance at a Celtic Festival.

It doesn't matter whether you do Highland or Irish, a Sword Dance is a nerve-wracking experience for everyone ...

I recognise that fleur-de-lys dress! One of our members made it and I can't for the life of me remember her username.

Does anyone know the name of the tartan being worn with the red jacket? Or the name of the dancer, even? Emmyport has another pic of it (with jennypollock!) in her 'unknown' page on Dancer Kilts (dancerkilts.tripod.com . . .) number 25.

I recognised the dancer straight away from this lovley pic!

Cheers,

C.

Yeha--this picture pretty much sums it all up. Watching my beginner dancer is joyful and nerve-wracking all at the same time! Thanks for sharing!

Oh man... that picture is worth a thousand "dizzy steps". That's the look of concentration, anticipation, trepidation... a heck of a find.

Ha I love this! Everyone gets nervous during the sword! I remember my mom admitting to me not too long ago that she always had to turn away when I did the sword at a competition, she just couldn't watch it! Haha, too funny! I danced from age four to seventeen but it never got easier for her to watch that dance :P
