I recently signed up for a middle eastern dance class at college this spring and was wondering what do I wear to practice in? 2 Replies to what to wear to practice? |

First of all, find out if your teacher has a dress code. If so, follow it, if not, dress comfy. Showing your stomach is not a requirement. Just make sure you wear something where the teacher can see what your legs are doing from about the lower-thigh and down.
Get a hip scarf, with coins or without. Ask the teacher what is allowed. Some teachers do not like hip scarves with coins and or bells on them. They have a tendency to shed at times and some dancers have been known to trip on the shedding.
Have fun! |

My teacher told me to wear something that is comfortable, but tight enough to see my body / my legs I would recommend you to wear the right shoes, too (it was annoying for me to dance with socks only). |
