I really want to get my Back handspring! i take classes so i won't go do it by myself or anything. I think my arms are strong enough cause i have my Front handspring almost perfect and i'm really close to a standing Front handspring. my coach's haven't said anything about doing it by myself yet but they don't really critique my Back handsprings anymore either they just say "Good!". I also think I'm getting closer cause i used to do them different when i had a different spotter and now that doesn't happen anymore. Constructive criticism is welcome! i need as much help as i can get! 1 Replies to Back handspring, am i ready? |

its really hard to be able to help without knowing more. Have you done it by yourself on say a trampoline, tumble track or inclined mat before? Does your spotter have to use one hand or both hands (basically is s/he just supporting your back or are they pushing your legs over too?). I don't think being able to do a front handspring really has much to do with being able to a backhand-spring, there are different things going on. Do you have any videos of yourself being spotted? Something like that can help us. Maybe you should flat out ask your coach, "How long do you think until I will be ready to do it by myself?" and ask what you can do to improve. Don't just ask how you did, ask more specific questions since your coach doesn't seem to be too articulate. |
