Australia - General Emperor Holidays Lottery Scam en>fr fr>en By tassiemum Comments: 1853, member since Sun May 07, 2006On Wed Jan 05, 2011 04:19 PM
Just a heads up about this scam which has arrived in Tasmanian letter boxes this morning. Apparently it was in SA earlier in the week.
Everyone receives two tickest- one saying "Thank You", the other is a second prize ticket of USD150 000. This is the bit that made me wonder, especially when I rang dad and he also won second prize. Odd, that, given that there are only 2 second prizes available.
An Adelaide person on a football forum ( www.bigfooty.com . . .) posted that her dad received exactly the same tickets. He rang the number and was advised that the prize was awarded by mistake and that he would have to pay $3000 in fees and taxes to receive his 'prize'.
If you know people who may be vulnerable to this kind of solicitation, please tell them to be wary.

They'll try anything, won't they?
