We've added a new feature to the front page that lets members submit interesting stories or links from the internet. Then, other members will be able to vote up or down on these upcoming stories, and the ones that get enough votes will be published to the front page.
Submissions should be interesting, humorous, or otherwise engaging. These can be links to videos, photos, art, or news. Vote these up. Things that we do not want are blatant advertising, trolling, too far off topic to dance, not family friendly, etc. Vote those entries down. Note that your votes will be recorded to your profile. This helps keeps people accountable for their actions.
Here's how to submit stories:
1. Make sure you're signed into your dance.net account
2. Press the submit link on the front page
Here's how to vote on upcoming and published stories:
1. Sign in to dance.net
2. Click on the upcoming stories link on the home page:
www.dance.net . . .
3. Press the up arrow to approve, press the down arrow to bury the story
Remember that you can even vote on entries published on the front page by clicking on the up or down arrow.
People who have more stars, karma, or prediction points will have more sway with their votes.
Also, when a submission is published, it will also appear as news in the forums. So a ballet story that gets enough votes will also appear in the ballet forum.
