The original three female singers of Boney M reunited in Amsterdam yesterday to pay tribute to late bandmate Bobby Farrell.
The funeral and burial took place a week after the DJ and dancer was found dead in a Russian hotel room at the age of 61.
Liz Mitchell, Maizie Williams and Marcia Barret, who hadn't performed together since 1986, remembered Farrell at a two-hour funeral concert at the Stadsschouwburg theatre.
Taking to the stage - where his flower-covered coffin stood under a spotlight - the trio said: 'We will miss you, your dance moves. Without Bobby, there is no Boney M.'
Leading the mourners was his daughter Zanillya Farrell, who summoned up the courage to speak about her father on stage to the 400 mourners packed inside the theatre.
Performing in memory of Farrell was American soul singer George McCrae, best known for his 1974 single Rock Your Baby. 1 Replies to Boney M's singers reunite to pay tribute to Bobby Farrell at musical funeral |
