my legs kept cramping up so I only did 15 minutes and then it was over with!
I really really really want to go to oireachtas and I know it will take alot of work, but getting a "maybe" from my TC was kinda dissapointing because she briefly considered letting me go this year. I do recognize why though. It is probally because the people I will be competing against have been doing it since they were tiny children and I could look out of place. I will be in U19.Not expecting a recall or anything..just the chance to go. Plus I will be doing TJ. YEEEEEEESSSSS!!!! No hornpipe I still hate hornpipe but its getting better. |

well Tuesdays class was depressing. I hate comparing myself, and know I shouldn't, but I cant help it. Anyways, my shins have decided to be annoying again. I haven't ran my reel or slip jig in over a week because the class crossover has meant its all hardshoe for me, but I will make sure I do that tommorow. Looking forward to the feis.

Haha thanks for the pre-congratulations from all my tumblr followers lol. Yeah, the rumors are true, I am a full prizewinner.

Im really happy because that was my goal for the year.
Full Results:
Reel-3/13
Slip Jig-2/12
Single Jig - 3/9
Treble Jig - 5/12
Traditional Set - 2/10
THE HORNPIPE- 1/8
I mean thats pretty good for not being able to feel my feet during softshoe because they were not getting proper circulation... as well as my foot falring up and my shins killing me. My mom said my softshoe didnt look as good as usual....no idea how I got 2nd and 3rd. But hey, I am not complaining. |

In your region, what do you need to get into prelims? |

@ onegirlband...those hornpipe drills you gave me obviously helped!
@ novicedancer1991, technically we only need a first in a softshoe dance and first in a hardshoe dance in prizewinner...however, at my school, and alot of other schools more than that is required. I have to get a first in reel, light jig, single jig, slip jig, treble jig, hornpipe, and traditional set. as well, at least one first place in treble jig trophy, preferablly two. All in all if you have all your firsts, and you have won at least one first in treble jig trophy, you are consistently placing, and look ready for it , our TC will move you up. |

:D
So anyways I get to learn a new hornpipe now, as well as a new slip jig second step and treble jig second step I believe. I love new choreography! |

Soo step update!
Keeping my novice hornpipe and doing it through prizewinner
Learning the championship slip jig lead around and 2nd step
Keeping my treble jig lead and using champ second step
Keeping my new reel obviously.
I dont know if I heard this properly but I think my teacher said she was going to push me up to prelim after two more feisanna :/ not sure if I feel quite ready for that since my hardshoe is so weak. HOWEVER the next feis is 3 months away ( feb 28th) and the second one isnt until april 26th…or even in May possibly …so that gives me over 5 months.
But I would be game to stay in prizewinner until Beautiful BC and maybe do first prelim at dance for life?
I almost won my slip jig last feis…so thats a good sign.
I just seem to have chronic injuries…which is why I am a bit concerned. The idea of dancing with people who have been dancing so much longer is just a bit intimidating!
as well
I dont know if I would feel just being pushed up rather than earning my placements….. I would feel like a cheater. |

okay re-vamp of wording
I would be totally unjustified being pushed up prematurely. Thats just not fair! Nor do I feel ready.
I bought my results and got the usual comments of rhythm and timing for treble jig BUTTTTT I won my hornpipe by 4 points ..generally I just marginally get a point ahead or something! So, happy about that.
Im injured again. I dont know what to do with myself.
Im so mad because I had an awesome practice schedule planned for my two weeks off.
I am trying to take it easy and havent done any home practice, but I still need to go to class so I can learn my new steps before we get out for xmas. I just want to learn it and mark it.
And people on tumblr bugged me to update my youtube, so here is a few runs of st patricks day ( in one video)because I have not done a st pats vid in a while.... keep in mind I am not in the most awesome physical state right now.

I danced 1 HP step tonight and it sent it into agonizing pain. I'm really upset and freaked out this could be a shin stress fracture. It's always one thing after another! Constant sore foot I can handle, but not this. I finally find something I really enjoy and I have been injured 60% of this year & three months I have competed! It just feels so unfair, but I realize I should not complain because many many dancers go through it! And I think I have finally accepted taking a break would be good for me....but I still want to learn my steps very upset dancer right here. I could take the next 2 and a bit weeks off and see how I feel? ( just go to class to mark steps as I learn them and go to the gym instead?) |

learned my slip jig and danced without much pain but I am still sticking to cross training for the next week excluding classes. I love the slip jig now! Such nice choreography. Luckily I pick up softshoe fairly quickly and was able to get it within 20 minutes, but not to music yet. I also started learning a hornpipe and treble reel number. oh and I got proffesional photos done last week with my various costumes and trophies. |

wow this is the longest ive been without an update. I guess since dance is out....well anyways I practiced for maybe 25 mins yesterday because my floor was too slippery because I ran out of tape and I didnt have any bubble socks to wear. my hardshoes dont really fit without them. I have only had these hardshoes for just over a year though but they have stretched so much. maybe I will buy some new ones at van eire. christmas gift! |

I really want to go to the Pacific Northwest Feis in Seattle because there are five trophy competitions. Maybe I can persuade my mom to take me because I dance on Sunday so I wouldnt have to skip school. But I also want to go to Emerald City in April down in Seattle as well. Or I could go to both! I went to so many feisanna last year! it wont matter though because most feisanna are late april-late june around here. and I am off from school and exams by the time emerald city hits. so technically I will have no conflicts whatsoever, emerald city, then victoria feis and west coast champs in may, then beautiful BC in june, and dance for life in july. |

I'm just going to register for pacific northwest. I can always drop it if needbe. I'm annoyed that my university hasn't put up grades yet too...I need to know if I failed geo or not! |

wow its been another week since I have updated. Ive started doing a little dancing again. I think I am finally getting drum heels now. On a non-dance note, I am going to Ireland, England, and Paris next summer! I just went three years ago! My mom really wants to go to Ireland before finances and potential health issues could get in the way. We would be visiting Northern Ireland because my Grandpa was from there as well as the major cities.I would have loved to do a feis in Ireland but its too complex sadly also, all my uni grades are finally up. Not what I wanted, yet they were what I expected. |

I'm so jealous of your trip! I've never gotten to go to Europe, but it's definitely on my list. So when is the pacific northwest feis? I've been looking everywhere and haven't found a date yet. First I heard it was cancelled and then that they are still trying to make it go next year. |
