 Holidays Valentine's day for long-distance relationships en>fr fr>en By dancetoexpress Comments: 143, member since Sun Nov 30, 2008On Sun Feb 06, 2011 10:51 AM
I suppose the title explains it all. Long-distance relatioships makes holidays like V-day pretty complicated, as I'm learning this year. So, what are some of your plans for Valentine's Day?
This will be my boyfriend and my first V-day together as well as our first apart. We're both in college 700 miles away from each other. So, we are planning on having dinner together over videochat. Also, I'm sending him a box with a few things in it. 4 Replies to Valentine's day for long-distance relationships |

Nothing at all. On Valentine's Day I'm stuck in class for 6 hours...4pm-10pm. BUT I'm heading up to his place on the 19th and hopefully spending a full week there so ... nothing special will probably happen. This will be our third Valentine's Day and I don't think we've ever done anything special...we've been LD the whole relationship so far. But I might make him a nice supper some night or maybe we'll go into the city for a movie.
We're not officially exchanging gifts either but I'm going to get him something just because. Which reminds me...I need to order it. I'm getting something off Etsy.
BTW the video dinner is really cute! |

^ I' in class from 9am - 9pm. SUPER lame. I feel like night classes should be rescheduled for Valentines...not for any logical reason...just because it makes my life better.
Anyway, of my 3 years of my current relationship (the majority of which was long distance), I have never had a real valentines. When it was long distance, it consisted of us sending each other things, and having super sickly sweet phone calls.
I will be celebrating Valentines day the day after, and only for an hour, but it's better than no celebration at all. |

Nothing at all, mostly because he doesn't really do Valentines and I'm not inclined to force him to I've sent him a jokey card and we might Skype for a bit. I was going to go over and see him but I'm working Sunday till late and then again Tuesday morning so there'd be very little point in doing a 2 hour drive each way on Monday.
