I dont see what the article has to do with the picture. they werent together until you put them together. the article is from some private blog, and the picture is from nastia's private twitter. they're unrelated. i dont think the pic was ment as a slight to jordyn weiber, it looks like nastia and aliya just ran into eachother. and nastia did congragulate jordyn on twitter after the comp. i think you may just be trying to stir up controversy. |

You have to remember that Nastia speaks Russian and therefor Aliyah had no one else to talk except for Nastia. As for Jordyn being in the competition, the rules allowed it. The rules stated that if one of the qualifiers withdrew from the competition and there wasn't enough time for the next qualifier to get there, then the host country could pick any age eligible athlete to compete. Jordyn will turn 16 in 2011 and that makes her age eligible even though she hasn't had her birthday yet. Jordyn was chosen as the American alternate weeks and weeks ago. I knew that. It happened after the last national team training camp. If I as a gymnastics fan knew that, the Russians should have known the possibility. I think Jordyn knows that she won that competition fair and square. The scores at this competition were all over the place, Jordyn's vault was much better then Aliyah's but only scored a few tenths higher. The competition shouldn't have been as close as it was. However, despite everything the NBC commentators have said about the Russians, in interviews, she hasn't complained at all about the results and has accepted what happened. She is not Svetlana Khorkina but to stir up drama, the NBC commentators made her sound like it. I really wish they would get new people. I know more about these athletes and the sport then they do at this point. What else do they do the 360 days gymnastics isn't on TV? |
