Our cell phone plan is due for an upgrade soon and I want to get a phone like an Iphone or one from HTC that uses android. I think I found the phone I want but Im not sure how much data to add to my plan. Unlimited isnt an option and I have no idea how much is reasonable. I'll use it like any other normal girl in their 20's, quite often haha. I'll use it for email every now and then, facebook, and to play with apps.

How much data do you all use on a monthly basis? What would you recommend? Thank you for any help.

I got my iphone about a month ago, and have a 1GB data flex plan (the flex means that if i go over my data, the bill is adjusted accordingly- if i use between 0-1gb of data its 60/month, if i use between 1-2gig its 85/month and so on). Last month I used 146MB of data on 3G, and 1.2GB on wifi- any data i used over wifi is obviously free.

If you're in areas with wifi often enough then 1GB is definitely more than enough- but like the person selling me my phone plan said, it's hard to use up 1GB with just average use (I used twitter, facebook and tumblr on my phone often- although mostly over wifi).
