I have a lot of files on my PC which I think would be great to share. I would also like the opportunity for others to contribute articles etc so it is not just from one school or one countries point of view.

I need to set up a site so I can transfer some things over before the existing site expires and am finding it very hard to pick a name. I have had some suggestions already, thank you!, and added a few of my own. These are the ones that are actually available (as I write).

I have not looked into any potential copyrights at this stage!

I really like letsjig. I think that it implies a more interactive site than one that is just informational. And it's really cute.

Never heard of any of them, but I just put irish dance spirit because I like energetic things !

I like letsjig.com. I think its cute, and it's the only one on there I wouldn't mess up putting it into the url.

A sort of related note: I know there used to be an online dress shop called Dance Spirit. I'm not sure of the url (might be dancespirit.com, but I can't remember). You might want to avoid the irishdancespirit.com url because people (especially ones who have been around awhile) might get confused.

I was going to vote letsjig.com but thought about it and it sounds like more of an instructional site, like diddlyilearn. People would be clicking on it expecting videos on how to actually jig. But that's my own opinion, it's still a cute name. I did vote everythingirishdance.com, that's my favorite name that portrays what your website actually will be, which is information and contributing articles and possibly discussions of 'everything irish dance'. (Har har, I know)

If you think about how people search for things, the first one is the clearest option. If I was new or even a seasoned dd or MAID I would type "about irish dance" in google... as a newbie, I wouldn't even know what a jig was. Of course, additional SEM and SEO can heighten people's ability to locate the site so that plays in as well. Are all of these URLs free?

I don't have a preference for your new URL, I think they're all just fine.

I just wanted to throw out a suggestion that as you get this new site online, that maybe you could also consider submitting your articles to some other Irish online periodicals, like Diddlyi or Feis America on Irich Central. It'll help drive traffic to your material, and collaboration/networking with the Irish dance online community is always a good thing, I say!
