Fortunately they seem to be hidden under a layer of hair.....I only noticed them when I was parting my hair a new way. It counted about 10....and they are all in just one little area. Strange!

I don't think right now I'll die them....my grannie (who was Apache/Chippewa) had the loveliest gray hair and I'm hoping I'll age gracefully like she did, but I may change my mind. Anyone know how the more natural stuff holds out.....the chemically stuff kinda makes me cringe.

:)

Am I allowed to post here? I'm 27....

I've had grey hairs since I was about 22. They seem to grow in numbers right at the front of my side part, and are short, so they often stick up. Quite amusing. Sometimes I pluck them, but mostly I just leave them. I also have long ones that have been able to grow without my knowledge at the back of my head.

Lush has some henna hair dyes that are natural. I've not tried them personally, but I have heard good things.

I'm not 30something but I am posting here to say congrats...since I am 22 and have found gray hairs for the last year or so. I'm pretty lucky though...my cousin who is like 26 has been dying her hair since my age in order to hide her gray!!!

I've got a few too. My aunt said she found a few last fall, and I suspect I've got three or four on my part line (because I've got a couple of hairs that seem to be light and bright, even when I've got roots). And my old girl that used to color my hair swore my temples were grey (and that was five or six years ago), but I've not particularly noticed that to be the case).

I've got no plans to go grey, baby. I get by with a little help from my friends, know what I'm sayin'? ;)

I was 31 and on my honeymoon when I spotted my first grey hair. New hubby laughed! Pah! He's still my hubby - but he's getting even greyer - in a peppery george cloony way! It's not fair - men mature like fine wine and women mature like milk!!!

^My soon to be husband also says he's got no intention of going grey. But doesn't plan to color his hair. So I wished him best of luck with that plan, haha.

It's all in the lighting. Hylndlas knows me and I hope would agree with me on this. Although I have greying temples and a really grey lock in front, I'm still pretty brown considering my age (almost 69.) But there are a couple of shot of me playing violin on stage with really intense theatrical lights where even my wife (who does kid me about turning grey...since she is almost totally grey despite being younger) tells me it makes me look far greyer than I do in more normal lighting.

But it is a losing battle :( I may have to cheat!

Wow! You're old finding them! Or maybe I was young finding them...

My sister laughs, because she can't see hers, she dyes her hair too often!

I've used the lush henna. It's absolutely stinking, and there's not much choice for colours, but it turns out great if they're the colours you're after! If you want more in depth information about them, drop me a pm.

(ps, I'm glad this isn't an "only" board.)

I was about 18 when I first started getting them, mine are round my ears and down my parting. They stick out and are frizzy! But I've got to the point where I don't care anymore!

I'm going grey disgracefully!

I recently had my hair half-foiled my normal blonde.

"If you see any grey, don't tell me, just color it." That's my new line and I stand by it.

My daughter has also told hubby that he has her favorite color in his beard...white. :)

I've been greying for half my life. I noticed (and started dyeing) my first few grey hairs in 1997, and 14 years later I am now totally grey.

Thank god for hair dye!

Erin.

I'm 29 and I have none so far. My sister is 38, and she has a few, but she highlights her hair and they blend right in with the highlights. I don't think my mom started getting grey hair until she was in her late 30s. So I guess we're lucky. I think my family is genetically freaky. No one in my immediate family looks their age. I'd say we could all pass for about 10 years younger than we are, depending on how we're dressed.

My mom, who is 62, stopped dying her hair and let the grey grow in a few years back. She has really lovely multi-toned grey hair, ranging from almost white to silver to a medium grey color. It was a bit of a shock at first to see her with grey hair, but it looks good on her.

I've been saying for the last few years that I'm going to wear my natural hair color for as long as I possibly can. I haven't dyed my hair since I was in college. I figure my grey-free days are numbered, so I might as well enjoy the hair color nature gave me while I can.

Mine started coming in when I turned 34-35. I'm the fortunate one in the family. 2 of my sisters their hair was grey by the time they were 21. I can't bring myself to dyeing my hair yet, so I usually will either pluck them, or part my hair differently so I can't see them.

I'm blessed - I'm 42 and no grey hairs at all. I get my hair (which is very dark brown) from my Dad who, when he died at 72 three years ago, still only had just started going grey. His beard started going salt & pepper when he was about 55 years old, but I don't think he got his first grey hair in his head until he was about 65 or so.

So I figure I'll have to start waxing my upper lip around that age! ;)

The payback, though, is the fact that I have really dark thick leg that starts growing back after only two weeks post-leg wax but, oh well, gotta take the good with the bad...

You're totally grey? Well you wouldn't know it.

I found my first one around 16 but now I have my fair share around my hairline, but that is where my dad started going grey first.

He is almost pure white at 48 but he looks like s ilver fox and calls it sunshine blonde!

That made me laugh! Thank you! :)

I must admit I too think you are lucky not having found any grey hairs until now, as my first popped up sometime in my early 20's. I'm not 43 and according to the regrowth I am more or less totally gray, but dying it, so don't worry too much about it.

I'm afraid I don't really know much about natural hair colouring, but I do love the colour that colouring with henna gives! Good luck! :)

My first greys came in while I was still in highschool, so lucky you! The lady who did my hair pointed them out to my mom while she was styling my hair for homecoming when I was in either 11th or 12th grade. (And as I said to my mom, you're not old until your pubes turn grey. Which means you're not old now, and neither am I!)

I firmly believe that part of aging gracefully is to not go grey. I know, it sounds silly, with grace comes modesty and there's no shame in being modest about displaying your age. (Which is not to say there's any lack of modesty in it, but I prefer to keep people guessing.) And while there are some fabulous natural dyes out there, their lasting power and pigmentation doesn't come anywhere close to the chemically stuff. It's sad, but true, and one of the very rare instances in which I fully embrace it.

What you wrote about sounds like what I have. Since I was a kid I've had permanent white hair growing on four different places of my head. Just little spots, about ten to twenty hairs in each. It's never spread. My cousin had the same thing, but his hair was dark brown and cut short so it was a lot more obvious.
