I cut off a foot of my hair.

Still in a state of shock...kinda.

I wasn't going to cut it until the end of the summer...but I randomly measured it today and realized I already have a foot to donate! That was a good thing to find out because my hair has been driving me crazyyy lately. It's sooo tangly, heavy, and in my way all the time. I mean I loved having long hair, but it was time for it to go!

It was starting to only look good when I blow dried it out straight...and I definitely don't have time for that every day! It feels amazing...but short is not something I'm used to at all so it will take some getting comfortable with!

I've chopped mine a time or two in my life and I'm about to do it again. Same reasons as you. Yesterday, it was so windy here and my hair was in my face and flying all over the place all day. Such a pain.

The hair will be made into wigs for people with hair loss for various reasons. I've heard some sketchy things about Locks of Love so I'm giving it to the Pantene Beautiful Lengths.

Thanks for the nice comments too. I was unsure up until this morning...but when I could literally wash it in one minute with a quarter sized dollop of shampoo...I changed my mind. It's awesome!

I donated mine to Locks of Love last year in memory of a mom of one of my dancers who died of breast cancer at 49. Her three children were orphaned. I have really thick hair, so I was able to do four, foot long ponytails. I almost donated to "Wigs for Kids", didn't know about Pantene (although I do use Pantene shampoo and conditioner!) I'm about to get ready for another donation. What's the story on Locks of Love?

I love it! It makes you look more mature, and that's a good thing. I think it really suits you! It looks so soft and shiny and healthy, too.

Locks of Love generally doesn't make wigs for people with cancer--they make wigs for kids with alopecia. Which is fine, but they don't really do much to dispel the misunderstanding. They also make very few wigs with the donated hair...most of it is sold to cover the charity's overhead.

I bet your head feels ten times lighter, Krystal! I had super long hair in high school and remember that feeling when I chopped it all off just before college.

^ Wow....I knew it wasn't for cancer, but bald kids are bald kids, ... I had no idea their ratio was so low.

I think I'm going to get my haircut tomorrow and skip the donation. I have enough betrayal in my life right now, I don't need a charity messing with my heart.

Thank you MidlakeMuse/Krystal, usually I look into charities before donating to them. But Locks of Love never even crossed my mind.

I was really shocked when I heard about the Locks of Love thing. I think it was actually Dani (could be wrong) who brought it up in my other post about cutting my hair.

I haven't found anything bad about the Pantene charity yet, so I'm hoping it's a go!

I know!! I chopped off all my hair a couple months ago, wasn't sure about it, and then after my first shower I realized it was SO much easier and quicker to wash my hair! Sold! I don't think I can go back to long hair now.

You definitely look more mature. That's what everyone told me too when I chopped mine off. I think in some ways I look like a 5-year-old (probably because to get all of it in a pony I have to have two teeny weeny pigtails).

Anyway, I love it and I'm so glad you did it!!!

I love it short! Congrats on donating it! I've done that a few times and it makes me feel so good to help children who are going through chemo.

That looks wayyyyy better than your long hair! Congrats! I got a lot cut off one time, and I liked it, but its a couple inches past my shoulder right now. I have blunt bangs too. They're cute.(:
