So much change and good change! I had a moment this week when I decided that I could cut my hair off. I made the appointment for this morning, Saturday at 9 a.m. and was like go wild. I just needed some outward sign of this insane inward change that I've made. So what do I do when I need a physical manifestation of this catharsis...oh just chop 5.5 inches of my hair off.
Not gonna lie, I cried. This is a really big step for me. At school, I'm Allyson, the girl with the big hair...it was who I was. My mom likes it a lot and she said I look my age now. The boyfriend absolutely loves it, I was able to talk with him this morning on Skype and he said it was looks amazing. I was really panicky last night and thinking about backing out. (you can read more about that in my diary) So yeah...pictures and I guess it's kind of a big deal to me.

I follow your diary and I think this is a great change for you! I am so proud of you.

I know it took a lot out of you to do this, but you will love it! I think it will help get rid of some of the memories that went along with your longer hair.

Sidenote: I chopped my hair off a year and a half ago, too. I think I cut like 6-7 inches off as well. It was above my shoulders when it had normally been mid-back length, so I definitely understand the panic and emotions that come with the change. Who woulda thunk that haircuts could be so traumatic/dramatic?

Sara- Mine was mid-back length as well and I keep reaching to play with it and it isn't there!! I'm really curious to see what the curl is going to do now, since my hair is naturally curly/wavy.

It has been a week and I'm still not used to. It is really curly and wavy now, which I love. It looks quite a bit different from being straight.
