I really adore this haircut, but could i pull it off? en>fr fr>en

I know i could get away with the length and style of it, but what i'm asking is could i pull off the two colors? My hair is dyed right now and is an auburn brown (my natural hair is ash brunette) and my hair stylist thinks i could totally pull off blonde. But i dont think i want to be blonde with red, like the girl in the photo. But i was thinking of maybe going to a deep brunette and then doing an orangy red for the fringe (I've had orange in my hair in the past and the color looks good, but it was in sunbursts and mostly hidden under layers in the back of my hair). The second photo is me so you can see my coloring a bit...
oh and my hair is naturally straight so i dont have to worry about styling it so much if i did this i guess.

any tips?

is your hair in good condition at the moment?

Because if you're going to go that blonde, its going to damage it, and that will effect styling. I also wouldn't recommend doing it all in one session.

Also, orange/red tones require a LOT of up keep, so if you do go with this style, be prepared to fork out to have it touched up more regularly than any other color you've ever had. Or, be prepared for it to look a bit daggy and faded between salon sessions.

I'm personally not a fan. I think this is the kind of style you have to wear a full face of make up with, or else it just looks a bit weird. I think you could probably suit most hair styles though.

Since your hair has been dyed, odds are you won't be able to get that blonde without ruining it...or almost ruining it. I've done stuff like that before because I keep my hair short and if I kill it, who cares, I'll just cut it off. With longer hair, you have to exercise more caution.

You'll have to test how the color comes out when you bleach it the first time...it'll probably take multiple rounds to get it to a light blonde shade, plus some toning. But depending on how the color sticks, you may or may not reach the level of blonde that you're looking to get. Typically the only way I can get my hair white is if I start with virgin hair or I happen to bleach out something like blue or purple and tone it, cause sometimes those colors end up silvery white when you bleach them out, haha.

Just don't be disappointed if you can't get that white color...a lot of people can't get there even with virgin hair to start with.

thanks!
i wasnt planning on going blonde, or at least not that blonde. I was thinking that instead of blonde, maybe do a dark brown or maybe a copper-brown. I dont think i'd want to bleach my hair to get that white, and while sure, my hair is in great condition, i'd be scared if i didnt like and had to put it back and it would be a nightmare...

Has anyone ever bleached their hair to get blonde like that, or close to, and then not like it and then changed back to a darker shade?

Ah, your description sounded like you wanted blonde with a darker color underneath.

If you go blonde and hate it, your hair may or may not be in the condition to hold a darker color. You can use protein filler to help it if your hair won't hold color at that point, but it's annoying. I like to caution people that unless they're willing to cut some hair off and maybe have to deal with some annoyance, they shouldn't try to go platinum unless their hair is light to begin with, heh. I've done the "overprocessed hair that can't hold color so the dye bleeds out in every shower" thing before and it IS kind of a pain.

The only question is, If your hair is thin, DON'T DO IT. But, if you have thick hair, and you have room to lose some, then go for it. I think i would be cute!(:

I go with the poster above! If you have thin hair don't don't don't do it...there are is so many short hair in this haircut!

I got a new hairstyle in February with such short hair on the top and it really made it. I have such thick hair, it was a mess and now it's near to perfect.

Are we even sure that all that hair is real and not extensions/clip ins? I think it's an awful cut, personally, because it's like you have one haircut ending and one beginning. It's really odd.

As for your bleaching question, you should do it in steps whether you're going lighter or darker. Work your way into light hair by slowly dying it lighter and lighter. A friend of mine is in the process of that right now, and she has a great hair stylist who's being very careful about it. The same goes for if you end up not liking the blonde. Slowly dye it back to the color you want; don't just go from bleach blonde to carmel brown.

Looking at your other pictures...you don't look like a scene girl. This is a scene hair cut. I don't think it really fits you. I do think you could do something similar and a bit toned down and pull it off, though.

Look how short some of the bangs are. Those are going to be really difficult to pull back into your wig or even into a pouf--it limits the size your pouf can be, too. If you went with the bun wig you were talking about awhile ago, it'd be a total nightmare to pull back. Also, if you change the colors of your bangs drastically as in this one, it will make it very hard to even spray the front of your hair to match it.

okay, so i took everyones words in to consideration and my hair dresser and i put a spin on it and this is what we came up with. The photo is terrible, but it looks awesome, doesnt wash me out, and it didnt destroy my hair, which is always a plus :)

as far as my dancing goes with this, i can spray the front just fine, or i can go blonde for my wigs too (an idea), and the bangs arent so short that i have issues pulling them back. It really works with my style, and dare i say, i feel a whole of a lot more confident with it (i looove the feeling of getting my hair done, it makes me feel fully put together and looking my best. But i'm weird, i know lol)

so, voila!
the first pic is my hair not done, not blow-dryed, nothing. in it's natural form. the second and third (pardon the poses, my friend played around with her camera a bit lol) it's straightened quickly to get the effect a bit.

Congratulaions on your new 'do! It looks great and you look great in it, which is the point, right?

^ i love that look! but i don't like making my hair big, but i so wish i could pull that off! I'm personally trying to grow my hair out so it's like that a bit (where its super SUPER short on top and then long length towards the bottom), so my stylist and I have been keeping up with letting the length grow but keeping the top short :)
