Alrighty.. well, I don't have any recent pictures of myself but the first one is me in December.
For a little background the second one is what my hair used to look like in September 2009 and the third picture is when I chopped my hair all off in May 2010.
Anyways...
Right now my hair is about to my shoulders and I don't really have any bangs. Yes, my hair is naturally curly and thick.
I'm growing my hair out and I guess my hair is just in that awkward stage. Since it's curly, it becomes all puffy at the bottom and looks like a triangle... :/
I just don't know what to do with it..
Any ideas?

You can call around to some salons in your area and find somebody who specializes in cutting curly hair. Sometimes it's hard to find a person, but that's what you need. They'll be able to shape your hair up. :)

Again, you might need the help of a salon to help with styling, but, is the front long enough that you could gather the sides, sweep them back and up and have the hair cascade down the back of your head rather than straight down the sides?

I would talk to a stylist about taking the bulk out of your ends. I have wavy hair which was also very much a triangle a couple of months ago, so I had my stylist thin out the ends and take out a lot of bulk, and now it looks a lot more like a normal person's hair.

I have the same triangle awkward problem. I find that layers really help to shape it nicely.

This is just because of the cut - like everyone has said you need someone who knows how to cut curly hair. It isn't like regular hair - it requires a lot more attention and care.

Also, you won't be able to grow it out just by leaving it for 6 months like someone with straight hair could. It needs regular cutting/trimming/reshaping every 6-8 weeks.

pulling your hair half up is a god send in a pinch, and conditioners & leave ins for curly hair are a necessity IMO. I like Bumble and Bumble

Thanks everyone!
I get nervous when it comes to layers because I worry my hair will turn into a puffball.
and yes, I need to find someone who can cut my hair properly... the last time I got it cut.. she left one side visibly longer than the other..

Your have beautiful hair!!! Layers are the key to prevent triangles (when my hair becomes a triangle I know it's time for a cut) and getting the right stylist is key. Always ask for someone senior who has experience cutting curly hair. Also check out www.naturallycurly.com it's my bible - it has some great advise, tips and salon recommendations. Good luck!
