Thanks for the hugs. She died :( she didn't suffer, and she had her daughters there (my mum and aunty) and my grandad.

Haven't got a lot to celebrate or discuss at moment but I will be back, I'm enjoying trying to participate in this thread for the first time.

Each VCDT has a theme according to which number it is. This is the 9th VCDT, so I chose Nine Lives as the theme. So, as a Discuss, what are nine things you would want to try if you had nine different lives?

Hey, remember me? :D

My 9 things: some of these are real goals
1. downsize our house to half the size that it is now.
2. move to Virginia Beach and live a more simple life.
3. change work from 9-5 rat race that it's been since 1978
4. open creative movement studio in Virginia Beach
5. spend more time with my birth daughter and grand daughters.
6. write/finish trilogy with my husband
7. take voice and piano lessons
8. do more volunteer work
9. do more artistic things (generally)

Vent: None!
Celebrate:Dude....I am freakin' done with college!!!! And the cherry on top is that I got a 4.0 my last semester and graduated summa cum laude. Yay!

More celebrating...
-I got a stethoscope as a gift yesterday (which I was clueless about how to use at first...I have a lot of learning to do haha)
-Dog sitting for my good friends while they are in Vegas. Boyfriend is working today so I am hanging at his house playing with the pup
-After our graduation reception yesterday, my dance coach took my best friend and I out and got us a huge, ridiculously strong drink. But since the main mixer in it was juice, I feel GREAT this morning. Mmmmm vitamins!

^ Have fun with the stethoscope. I have a really pretty purple one but it has a bit of an echo which was a nightmare when I was just starting to learn how to use it.

Vent: The dishwasher has given up all signs of life. Dad tried to mend it. Still broken. Claire = new dishwasher.

Celebrate: I measured myself today to see inch loss. Wow I am impressed with myself. I know I won't be totally accurate but I measured my bust as 38inch, waist 31inch and hips 38inch. Now just to squeeze into a smaller size! No wonder my dance dress is flapping around!

Congrats Uber!!

===

VENT: Not only did my monthly friend show up today, it's raining, I have a headache, I sliced my finger on my razor (don't ask me how, I don't know), and my new med is making me super nauseous :(

CELEBRATE: I'm going to hang out with one of my friends tomorrow, and one of my old youth group leaders sometime in the near future :)

DISCUSS: How many clothes do you have (in terms of weeks)? I have about 3-4 weeks worth of clothes which is rather absurd...so I'm giving some to the eldest daughter of my old youth group leader, and the rest of the ones I don't want to Salvo.

Just for shirts alone, I could probably go a month without doing any laundry. I don't even know why I keep them all, there's more than a few that I don't really like, or don't find all that flattering, but they live to tell the tale for another day. I try to stay on top of it, but not as much, haha...

For everything else, I've got a good two weeks or so that I could make it. I need more underwear though. :/

Listening to Wiggles music. Sick of listening to Wiggles music. :D Some of it is oddly pretty though, the songs that are more piano based, I like alot.

Clothes discuss: Yikes I have loads. I have at least 8 pairs of jeans plus another drawer full of trousers plus skirts and smart trousers. Tops I have a drawer and wardrobe full.

I sorted everything out a few weeks ago and took 4 bags to charity.

I must have nigh on 5-6 weeks worth of clothing though.

Vent 1: Cramps. Pretty self explanatory.
Celebrate 1: Cramps. At least I'm not pregnant, and that is always a celebrate.
Vent 2: I have the next 5 days off from work, so moneys a bit tight.
Celebrate 2: I have the next 5 days off work, so I have time to relax and catch up on things and spend time with my friends.

Time to relax and watch some SATC and wait for the roomsie to get home from work, because I am actually excited to see her since she's been gone for a week.

To do -

Finish Packing - all that is left is under the bed, few things in closet, random jibber jabber, two posters on the wall, curtains, bedding, random things in the bonus room and kitchen

Hit up the storage unit so I can start getting my stuff over there ASAP.

Find Hotel in New Orleans area for Friday night

Drop off rent for last two months

Social Security Card - lost mine... eek! Gotta get it, get copy of it and my drivers license made and have it faxed to Verizon to get my credit check to get me off my parents plan and on my own.

Call Registrar to change my address for diploma.

Clean trunk and few random things in the car. Trunk is cram packed.

Get primer and prime and then paint my bedroom.

Luckily I got A LOT of packing done today so I think the next four days will go a bit smoother.

I do....

My nine things are:

1) Build my own studio on some of the land I own instead of continuing to rent
2) Dance Giselle
3) Get a "big money" job at Disney (like there is such a thing?)
4) Have an apartment in New York to facilitate attending the theater, ballet, museums, restaurants, the library....Not to live there all the time, just to play
5) Write a collection of short stories that makes everyone who reads it smile
6) Get my college degree before I die
7) Learn to swim
8) Learn to speak fluent and beautiful French
9) Become a doctor and cure my daughter and daughter in law

Keep On Dancing*

Celebrate: I had a really fun day! I'm feeling pretty darn happy.

Vent: I am extremely tired right now, and I usually don't get this tired this early in the night. Well, it's past midnight, but that's early for me. I'm cursed with being a night owl but not being able to sleep once the sun is up. Argh.

Clothes discuss: I'm embarrassed to admit that I still have and wear some clothes that I wore in high school. I loathe clothing shopping so my wardrobe is pretty small. I only have three pairs of jeans (skinny, boot cut, and nice) and maybe two weeks of shirts. I have a few nice outfits and dresses/skirts, but I don't wear them too often.

(((((Kristy)))))

Uber- grats!!! That's great!

Clothes= I have way too many that I don't wear, and about a weeks worth of wearing.

----

Vent: I'm really nauseated this morning. I didn't want to eat anything when I got home from the gym about 20 minutes ago, but I just now ate a banana to see if that settles it a little. :? And my boobs hurt. I'm sure you really wanted to know that. My period should be soon so that's probably why.

Celebrate: I went to see Thor last night with Max! I loved it, even though it moved a little fast for the story to develop and it was a little corny. I love corny. Afterwards we went to Chili's and shared fajitas and spent a $25 giftcard we'd had since February... haha.

Friday night was a little sad. I won't go into a lot of detail but the night ended with us going to pick up Plan B with me crying. We didn't fight or anything, I just realized that we both really want kids, and I can't think about much else right now. He wants to be really prepared before we start trying, and though I completely agree, I'm more of the "do it when it feels right" type. I know it's just the baby fever talking, but gah. It makes me really sad, for some reason, thinking about waiting much longer. I know I'm really young, I know we should be prepared, I know, I know. I guess I'm just venting here, cause I realize the consequences of not being completely ready when you want kids. Anyways. Can I have a hug? :(

-Jo

Vent: I have no food and no time to go get food with all of these rehearsals!

Vent: One of our male leads failed to show for rehearsal to learn his part...

Celebrate: I found a replacement for him ;) Yay!

Clothes discuss: I have about 5 weeks of clothes I could wear, but only about a week or 2 worth that I actually will wear. I really need to do some cleaning ;)

Vent: I hate bureaucracy.
Vent: WHY can I not find a decent pair of khakis or chinos that fit? The cute cropped kind that you can roll up at the ankles?

Celebrate: My boyfriend watched When Harry Met Sally with me last night and he liked it.

Clothes discuss: I have way more tops than I do bottoms. If we're counting shorts, trousers, jeans, skirts, shorts, and dance/yoga type pants, I could probably go 2-3 weeks without washing.

Vent: I'm not at school because I feel sick and that makes me feel guilty. I'm on a compressed semester and that makes me feel even more guilty. Bahh.

Celebrate: My 2 year anniversary with my man is this week and he's taking me away for a night to a surprise location!

Clothes discuss: I have WAY more tops than bottoms: for bottoms I only have one pair of jeans I like to wear (that fit me well), I have 3 pair of athletic type pants (2 Lululemon and 1 Nike) and that's about it aside from a pair of shorts and a couple dressy skirts. I could probably go 2 weeks without washing since I don't wash my jeans with every wear.

Just call me the ANZAC Biscuit Queen.

From now on, every time I visit a DDNer, I'm bringing them. Or making them IN YOUR HOUSE.

----

T: I don't know that mothers liking some Wiggles songs is that unusual. Mum always liked this song from my Wiggles video. (Sorry about the terrible quality - it's the only one I could find.)

Congrats, Brittany and Uber!!

Trout: I have some clothes from high school still, too. As far as I'm concerned, if you still like them and they don't look like they're 50 years old, why not?

Vent: Mark (my fiance)'s dad is dying. It's to the point that we're all just waiting around for the inevitable. He hasn't been conscious for the past several days due to the sedatives and morphine he's on. I hope he goes peacefully.

Celebrate: I think I'll have time to go for a run in the park today. Running in the park = awesomesauce. Also, I'm starting Week 9 of Couch to 5K, which means I'm thisclose to finishing the program.

Movie discuss: The last movie I saw in the theatre was Scream 4. The last movie I saw in general was Snatch, which Mark and I both have a fondness for, since it was one of the first movies we ever watched together.

Clothing discuss: Wow, I always feel like I have no clothes, but this discussion has taught me that I apparently have loads. I don't have a ton of pants, but if I wore a different top every day, regardless of workplace dress codes and whatnot, I'd probably have at least 4 weeks' worth of outfits. Factor in those that aren't seasonally appropriate right now, and that's probably another 2 weeks. I don't consider my wardrobe to be excessive. I have certain clothes that are very casual, which I wear when I don't care what I look like, others that are medium casual, which I wear when I do care what I look like but not enough to dress up, and then I have the "nice" clothes that I wear to work or for a nice dinner out. And then I have some clothes that I hardly ever wear but still wear just often enough to make them worth keeping, just to change things up from time to time.

We were never a house that watched Wiggles, really. That probably makes it weirder. But, I teach baby dance classes, so I have to have lots of options. :D

In Australia they've been a household name since I was a toddler... as in, EVERYBODY knows them and has grown up with them and has an opinion on the "new" Yellow Wiggle. ;) Actually I'm a little surprised/impressed that you know them at all, but you're right, gotta have lots of options for kids!

I'm a little bemused by my host mother's reaction to drunk Finnish (WORLD CHAMPIONS ZOMG) ice hockey players on TV. Coming from the Land of Drunken Sportspeople (Especially Footy Players) Doing Stupid Things, I'm kinda left wondering what else people would expect of them? Especially when they've won the world championships for the first time in 15 years... what else are they going to do to celebrate? :P

For the record, I feel the same about ice hockey as I do about footy in Australia - meh. Just made it a little awkward when the teachers at my host brother's playschool were running around with Finnish flags painted on their faces and I hadn't even watched most of the match, haha. Crazy crazy Finns.

Vent-So much change going on in my life right now. I'll be fine one minute, in tears the next, & angry the next.

Celebrate-So the test I didn't study for? I got a 97.

Discuss-How's everyone's week going so far? Mine has been pretty good. Good grade on the test, got Boy all moved in, & am one step away from being offered the real job.

VENT: None really.

CELEBRATE: I thought that I failed a class (that's what Blackboard told me), so I emailed my professor and he said that I got a C-!! (I then checked Blackboard again, and sure enough, my grade somehow changed)...maybe my GPA won't be completely in the toilet this semester like I thought.

DISCUSS: Do you whiten your teeth? I use whitening toothpaste (and have used strips in the past -- the dissolving Listerine ones, and the Crest 2 hour ones)...and a bunch of my friends try to dissuade me from doing it because it weakens your enamel...but having white teeth is important enough to me that I'm willing to deal with that.

^I try to plan out in front of special events, and do it for those. Which reminds me, I need to get my hands on some stuff, the weddings in about six weeks.

Got a new student this morning. I was actually pretty nervous - she was coming to try my class because the one she'd been in was boring, and that was just shouting out "stage mom!" at me like crazy, and I already have one of those (erg...don't get me started!), and wasn't looking for another. But she was much less high maintence in person than I'd anticipated. :D Plus, she got a kick out of my using Taylor Swift for our jazz dance (the daughter, not the mom), and became BFF with my little class boss, so I didn't figure she was going anywhere. I've banked on the strength of being BFF with the boss before and it didn't pan out, but this time I was pretty confident. :)

VENT: You know how my job is demanding all these extra hours from me starting this summer? Right now they're cutting my hours. This does not give me any confidence. At all. I've spoken to the clinic manager about it and she has promised to bring it up to the owners tomorrow when she meets with them (because I'm not the only one who feels this way), so maybe it will do something? I don't know anymore. I love the office, I love the doctor, I love the work I'm doing, but I feel like I'm taking a huge gamble here, and I don't love that at all.

CELEBRATE: This has, however, motivated me to put myself out there for some good things I want to happen. The last time I went to see the nearest professional ballet company there was an ad in their program for the PTs who care for them, so I totally just sent them my resume. Let's see what happens...
