What brand is your character shoe?

I've always used Capezios for my character shoes and I also think that Blochs are REALLY uncomfortable. I just wanted to know who wears what kind of shoe because my friends all agree that Capezios are better, but I'm pretty sure that there are still people who wear Blochs.

I just got new ones, and the Bloch shop had two models of character shoes- the older style and a new style. The new style are soooooo much more comfortable.

Bloch are amazing when it comes to dance shoes. I have the new Bloch character shoes that clip over to the side of the foot on the shoe. They are really easy to point in, but a but slippery at first! As soon as you break the shoes in, you'll be fine and they will work with you as the heel if very strong and does a fantastic click.

Capezio are comfortable with softer material but doesn't last as long. Bloch are pretty but the material is kind of hard. Sansha are the most durable but I don't really like how most of their models are bulky looking.

I have had Capezios since the beginning. One of my friends used to have Blochs and did say they were uncomfortable.

Hi Christine,

I'm pretty sure they do, or you could at least order them.

They were special orders but still cheaper than most pairs here in Australia. I just emailed the freed shop in London (www.freedoflondon.com) and told them what I wanted....easy peasy. My style of shoe also can be ordered in Brown, Green and I think Blue (As well as black obviously.)

They are the love of my life....so amazingly comfortable ! I think they were about 65 pounds plus postage.

I tapped in Capezios for many years. Now, I have Miller and Ben character tap shoes and I love them.

For a jazz dance I had to get Blochs, i really liked them, still have them in my closet somewhere.

When I was doing ballroom I bought the Bloch split sole character shoes with the suede sole. So comfortable.

I've never taken a character class, but I'd probably get Blochs if I did.

www.freedusa.com . . .

This is the link for Freeds USA and the shoes I use for Character.

The Ladies Oxford is what I use for tap, Capezio taps fit them perfectly.

Mine are "Merlet" (french shoemaker). They're very smooth, with a good support tough. The heel is very elegant and makes beautiful legs ^^

What is the difference in wearing the low heel and the mid heel character shoes for character ballet?

I use capezio academy greysole and I love them! They look a little weird though. The strap is pink an they are canvas, not leather.
