^^^ I recognized the face of a former student, LOL; now I know where she went. Her mother pulled her after she was in our Nutcracker for four years, because the "dance school her little sister attends has a cheaper Nutcracker." (I didn't think they had a Nutcracker, perhaps she was talking of a Christmas show?) At any rate, they had moved far out of our town, and this little girl missed more than she came - so I was expecting it, but her mom went into a public tirade backstage, and that I didn't need.

I was curious about their ballet production in the posted pictures. It looked like it might be "Midsummer Night's Dream" or another seasonal fairy set of dances. And less tap photos, particularly older students, except for the "Tap n Burn" adults with Melanie, their teacher. Too bad the SYTYCD influence is so pervasive that everyone now chooses lyrical style over other dance forms - that require more focus and skill. So tired of seeing kids in cliche: walking up bent-over backs; lifted overhead in cross; flinging long loose hair, etc.

We do not do a ballet or any other holiday show. Just recital.

We did our own version of Ichabod Crane: The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. It was very good but way too long for a recital.

PM me the name of the student. I am curious.

Great shots!

Do they use more than one backdrop?

Beautiful! At first I thought that the dancer on this picture was a painting. The colors match the backdrop perfect. Then I saw the male and realized that it was your dancers. Simply gorgeous!

They used one backdrop for the ballet. The other shows, one backdrop, but for the younger ones, it was a cruise theme, so they put a cruise ship and palm trees in front of it. When taken away, for the last show, it was the Hollywood sign scene in Calif.

The backdrop for the ballet and costumes were all color coordinated.

Thanks.

I think I got through about a third of the shots, but it's bedtime... There are some really nice ones in there. How many different numbers were there, and how many shows? It seemed to be a LOT, which means a LOT of work!

Three shows, and seven hours worth of shows. They have around 600 students but many take a lot of classes, plus dance teams.

great pics, so many! Do you order your costumes or have them made? Some One in particular I had not seen, red/orange with one side sheer shiny fabric the other a leotard. I also like that everybody looks good in their costume! Nothing is hanging out!

All were from different companies, mostly the main ones. We are only allowed to order from certain companies.
