So i decided I was going to make my solo costume for my recital this year i did a dance to Velvet Pony. It took we three weeks to make including drafting my patterns and countless hours on Google looking at techniques for how to make the actual tutu part. Its a 16 layer platter tutu with a hope in it made out of very soft tulle on top and net on the bottom wiht attached bottoms and basque and ruffles on the but part. the bodice is 16 peiced total and is boned on all of the seams :)

The second photo is great! "Wassup? Just walking with my newspapers..."

And of course the costume is great too! Well done on all the research and hard work that went into it. It's really pretty. Any pictures or video from the recital?

no sorry guys no vids or anyhting none of them really turned out that well. and I figureds out how to make them by looking at tutus on the tutu.com facebook page and did basic math to figure out how many yards of tull would be needed its 14 inches wide and i have a 38 inch hip and a double plete that is half a inch wide uses 3 and a half inches of tulle so i had to multiply 38 by 3 per layer and then add up all the widths of each layer(16 in total) and divide by the width of the fabric i i bought to figure out how many yards... And then i Drafted the bodice pattern on my own..

I've used tutu patterns from Tutus That Dance. They are sublime patterns and the designer is very helpful answering quetisons via email. I'm not the supplier just a very happy customer!
