This October at the World Highland Dancing Conference in Las Vegas we are offering as our special choreography session a group choreography out of Australia. The dance is performed to AC DC's "It's a Long Way to the Top". I had the pleasure of judging this dance when I was in Australia last July and it is outstanding. What I like most about it is that not only is the choreography very good, the costumes relate as much to non-Highland people as they will to traditional Highland people and the music, though very non-traditional, is awesome.

The Special Choreography session will give you the opportunity to learn the dance directly from the choreographer, Kerry Grosser, and all registered Conference participants will also receive a DVD of the full dance as well as written instructions, even if they are unable to attend the session in person.

This Conference has long been considered the premier event for anyone in Highland dancing to attend and, of course, there are many many other tremendous sessions offered and taught or presented by the best Highland dancing professionals in the world and would be very beneficial to any Premier level dancer as well as parents, teachers, judges and organizers. If you are interested and would like to register go to the World Highland Dancing Conference website. Since I'm a new member and can't post links, to go to the site put a www. in front of whdc.us for information on all of the sessions and presenters and much more. The date of the conference is October 7, 8 and 9, 2011 at the Flamingo Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Any questions can be directed to me, Bill Weaver, at weave1wt@cmich.edu
