How weird I read this post-- we're going Wednesday afternoon for ours! At first, we both wanted something simple and young. We wanted a tall, wheat field, white shirts and jeans with barefeet. Our photographer takes natural, candid photos so we were just trusting her to catch us in the moment there. But in the end... she actually gave us the idea to pick a fun, bright place and we landed in downtown Detroit in the afternoon with casual clothes we'd wear everyday in our own environment. She said she will shoot us just walking, and with the graffiti and monuments. We're both in our very young 20's, (20 and 23) so we wanted something fun and bubbly. I think as soon as she posts them I will show you guys!
I knew I wanted this lady because 1. the photographer I loved (and that is insanely popular in my area) started at a rediculous price 2. this photographer was my first choice's assistant and was just starting her own company so her prices were decent and 3. I grew up with her family living around the block from me! I felt so... comfortable around her. It felt easy to talk to her, and she was so friendly.
Just try to be yourselves. Nobody likes the engagement pictures where you're posed and using your fake smile. Laugh, play and enjoy one another without noticing the photographer there. You will get some real genuine shots. |

Just saw this link which is the most awesome engagement shoot I've ever seen. Thought you'd be interested.
