 Beauty I'm PinUp and I'm a LUSH addict. en>fr fr>en By PinUpGirl Comments: 24149, member since Tue Jul 16, 2002On Wed Jul 27, 2011 12:33 PM
Since they always insist on putting their name in caps. Anywhoo...
I just recently discovered Lush and I'm totally hooked. I just got a hair care kit yesterday and wow. My hair actually feels kind of soft. I can't stop touching it. I didn't much like the smell of the Jungle solid conditioner, but it grew on me. I liked how it worked with my body chemistry. I haven't tried the hair treatment yet, but I'm planning a night of pampering that will include it.
I also love the bath bombs & bubble bars. I mixed the Sakura bath bomb with the Amandopondo bubble bar. That was a great combination, though $14 is a bit much for regular baths. It is pricey, but it does last a while. I'm wishing I bought a bigger tub of the Ocean Salt. I'll be needing a new one of those sooner than I'd like.
So let's share our LUSH love. At least it smells nice. 47 Replies to I'm PinUp and I'm a LUSH addict. | re: I'm PinUp and I'm a LUSH addict. en>fr fr>en By Louise Comments: 15626, member since Thu Jun 06, 2002On Wed Jul 27, 2011 12:37 PM
The shop makes me sneeze
Over here the employees who make the products all have a little sticker with a cartoon of their face on, and they put the sticker on the bottom of the product so you know that your Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter was made by Rob on the 14th of May 2010. Do they do that everywhere? Love it! | re: I'm PinUp and I'm a LUSH addict. en>fr fr>en By Tea Comments: 1182, member since Mon Apr 14, 2008On Wed Jul 27, 2011 12:38 PM

Oooh, I love Lush! I wish it wasn't so expensive so I could love it more and more. I have so much of their stuff laying around, though, from random trips and taking advantage of sales. We have a retail store here and I love going in and playing with all of the samples and smelling everything. I would love to work there. I'm so tempted to try one of those hair kits, too.
..Wow, you can tell Lush makes me excited by my complete lack of coherent thought process. Hah!
ETA: Yep, I think they do that everywhere, Louise. All the products I've gotten have that, too. | re: I'm PinUp and I'm a LUSH addict. en>fr fr>en By PinUpGirl Comments: 24149, member since Tue Jul 16, 2002On Wed Jul 27, 2011 01:11 PM
Yeah, I think they do that in every store. My body was was made by someone named Cannibal. | re: I'm PinUp and I'm a LUSH addict. en>fr fr>en By Puss_in_Boots Comments: 4433, member since Mon Jun 03, 2002On Wed Jul 27, 2011 01:28 PM
I got really really excited when I went to Helsinki on Friday because there was actually a Lush store there! Actually I think there are three, if you include the one in Espoo (which is technically a different city but so close that it pretty much is in Helsinki). ANYWAY, I got to stock up on Aqua Marina which is the best facewash I've had in a long time. Possibly would've grabbed a face scrub as well except I was too poor and they didn't have Herbalism. Did they discontinue Herbalism?
I loved their Aromacreme deodorant and was heartbroken when they stopped making it. So I found a recipe that made a similar sort of deodorant and now I'm happy again.
They have the faces and dates on the Australian products. From what I could tell the Finnish products were kinda patchy. Some were in Finnish, some looked like they'd been shipped from England, some had black packaging, some had clear containers, same products had different labels/stickers, etc. I don't know whether it's a fairly recent thing here though - that could explain the lack of stores in other major cities too. | re: I'm PinUp and I'm a LUSH addict. en>fr fr>en By YumYumDoughnut Comments: 6544, member since Sat Jul 10, 2004On Wed Jul 27, 2011 03:29 PM

I always cut the bathbombs in half! I feel like I get the same effects as one bath bomb.
You have to try the Big Blue bathbomb. It is amazing and I pretend to be a mermaid in the water. * flap flap*
Oh you guys have to try the Cosmetic Warrior face mask. It is in the section with the fresh masks that lasts about 3 weeks. For about $6 it is a steal. It made all my acne go away! 0.0
I also highly recommend the herbal face cleanser. I forgot what it is called, but it is green and it is kind of crumbly and powder. You add it to your water to make a base. AMAZING | re: I'm PinUp and I'm a LUSH addict. en>fr fr>en By staygold123 Comments: 474, member since Sat Jun 28, 2008On Wed Jul 27, 2011 04:46 PM
I like a lot of Lush products, but they tend to get very expensive very quickly! I use the Soak N' Float shampoo bar which smells AWFUL (like charcoal mixed with tar or something), but it's the only shampoo that really helps my sensitive scalp.
My favorite products that actually smell nice are the Godmother Soap (my favorite!), Vanilla in the Mist Soap, Sweetie Pie Shower Jelly, and the Sweet Lips Lip Scrub. I also really like the Cupcake Fresh Face Mask and the Mask of Magnaminty. I've used some of their bath stuff and it was all really good, but I'm more of a shower person. | re: I'm PinUp and I'm a LUSH addict. (karma: 2)

"Hi, PinUpGirl!"
I haven't purchased anything from there in a while, but I really enjoyed the last thing I did buy, the solid shampoo bars. I can't remember the type it was, it might have been for a dry/itchy scalp. It smelled minty and delicious, but I needed to get a soap dish as it left green goop all over my shower! | re: I'm PinUp and I'm a LUSH addict. en>fr fr>en By lee_britt Comments: 2070, member since Mon Aug 29, 2005On Wed Jul 27, 2011 05:41 PM
The Olive Branch is the only shower gel I've used in almost 5 years now. I'm in love! I got the Dirty set for my hubby and he loves it. I also use the Charity Pot as my main body moisturizer, and love that all the money from the sale goes to a charity of MY choice! Very cool!
As for the stickers of who made what, everything is made in either Vancouver or Toronto and every product is ALWAYS labelled with the sticker, no matter where it's getting shipped to | re: I'm PinUp and I'm a LUSH addict. en>fr fr>en By staygold123 Comments: 474, member since Sat Jun 28, 2008On Wed Jul 27, 2011 06:54 PM
^OO! My mom got a sample of Charity Pot last time we went to Lush and it smelled really good! | re: I'm PinUp and I'm a LUSH addict. en>fr fr>en By loveofChrist Comments: 614, member since Sun Oct 21, 2001On Wed Jul 27, 2011 07:06 PM

LUSH? Yes, me too! loooovin' their products. And it makes me smile when I think that I won't be discarding any more shampoo or conditioner plastic bottles into waste. YAY.
I originally recieved a dry shampoo as a gift, and saved it forever (several years) because I thought that it would be the perfect shampoo to take a long trip. Eventually, I just decided to use it (it still hadn't lost any of its original scent or potency), and won't be using anything else--- traveling or not!
I wish that they had more choice with the conditioner, although I am satisfied with the Jungle.
Very excited to try their henna hair dye. I've wanted to deepen my color for several years now, but have not because of how un -natural the chemicals are in the mainsteam hair dyes. I probably going to try dying before the end of summer--- to get rid of all this blonde the sun put in. ug.
So, yes, another fan of LUSH!! | re: I'm PinUp and I'm a LUSH addict. en>fr fr>en By GeeTrain Comments: 3386, member since Sun May 09, 2004On Wed Jul 27, 2011 07:17 PM

I love, love, LOVE LUSH. The bath bombs are my favourite indulgence, and like Jazzy, I split them to make them last longer. The massage bars are also unreal. They smell/feel amazing. Because of this thread, I am going to my local store this afternoon to get some facial cleanser/moisturiser/masques because my skin has been reacting to most things lately, and all LUSH stuff is natural and amazing. Excited | |

Jazzy is this what you're thinking of? I wouldn't've called it powdery but I definitely need to add water to put it on my face. I love it, but my body tends to get sick of the same product so I rotate it with either Angels on Bare Skin or some other eco brand scrub. | re: I'm PinUp and I'm a LUSH addict. en>fr fr>en By DeStijl Comments: 6427, member since Sat Jul 17, 2004On Thu Jul 28, 2011 02:15 AM
Wow, is LUSH really that good?
I don't think I've been inside a store for years. My nose goes into overdrive and I start sneezing when I'm even 100 metres away from one, so that has out me off, but now I'm kind of curious! | re: I'm PinUp and I'm a LUSH addict. en>fr fr>en By Lauretta Comments: 1009, member since Wed Dec 01, 2004On Thu Jul 28, 2011 05:20 AM
I like walking around the shops and buying things for other people, but unfortunately that's as far as it can go for me. Their dream cream is meant to be what it says on the label, but when I tried it it made my skin sting really bad. I'm so envious of all of those people who rave about dream cream being a miracle cure for skin problems. | re: I'm PinUp and I'm a LUSH addict. en>fr fr>en By PinUpGirl Comments: 24149, member since Tue Jul 16, 2002On Thu Jul 28, 2011 07:54 AM
I got the Charity Pot, too. I love it. My skin feels soft for most of the day and the scent isn't overwhelming. One of my biggest pet peeves is people who overdo the perfume or body lotion. I work in an office with close quarters, so it's nice to wear to work. I don't suffocate anyone. | re: I'm PinUp and I'm a LUSH addict. en>fr fr>en By Dancer456 Comments: 680, member since Fri Dec 31, 2004On Thu Jul 28, 2011 08:47 AM
I love, love, love LUSH!! Glad there's so many other addicts out there I washed my hair using their retread conditioner two days ago, and I can still smell it today! I love their toner tabs, their face masks, everything! Their staff are also amazing! I got their ultimate shine shampoo bar, and it gave me dry scalp, so I went back to buy something less harsh for my scalp, they gave me loads of help and free samples of things that may suit me if what I bought didn';t do the job. Amazing! I can't get enough. | re: I'm PinUp and I'm a LUSH addict. en>fr fr>en By YumYumDoughnut Comments: 6544, member since Sat Jul 10, 2004On Thu Jul 28, 2011 08:50 AM
Pussinboots, thats it!
I use that combined with my Cosmetic Warrior mask and I have perfect skin now. I don't even have blackheads on my nose, it is THAT amazing. | re: I'm PinUp and I'm a LUSH addict. en>fr fr>en By PinUpGirl Comments: 24149, member since Tue Jul 16, 2002On Thu Jul 28, 2011 09:11 AM
Yeah, the staff knows me at the one I go to. My favorite little gay boy is always working. Half the reason I go there is to talk to him. My hair still feels good from washing it yesterday. I'm sure once I start using it regularly, I'll really see results. | re: I'm PinUp and I'm a LUSH addict. en>fr fr>en By Dancer456 Comments: 680, member since Fri Dec 31, 2004On Thu Jul 28, 2011 10:54 AM
Jazz lover, you dont even have blackheads on your nose?? Oh I am totally going to Lush tomorrow now...not that I needed an excuse | re: I'm PinUp and I'm a LUSH addict. en>fr fr>en By YumYumDoughnut Comments: 6544, member since Sat Jul 10, 2004On Thu Jul 28, 2011 11:00 AM
^ The herbal cleanser sometimes leave a film on the face, so be sure to take it off well. Usually I use the cosmetic warrior mask and use it after the cleaner so it seems to get it off. I use the mask about every other day, and it isn't too strong for my skin | re: I'm PinUp and I'm a LUSH addict. en>fr fr>en By PinkPearl Comments: 2038, member since Sun Aug 17, 2003On Thu Jul 28, 2011 11:08 AM

Another huuuge LUSH fan here!
I love pretty much everything. I'll start with Bathbombs. I don't even know which one I liked best because they all had sometihng special/cute about them. Twilight smells amazing (vanilla-lavenderesque). I legitimately left it in my room for 3 weeks and took no bath because it just made my room smell amazing. It had glitter too. Cannot ask for more ♥ . Mrs. Whippy is another one I've tried. Smells of a creamy strawberry milkshake. Just yum! I've tried the Pink bathbomb too, with cute little flowers inside, and it smells like candy! I am just a sucker for the lovely colours and scents of these bathbombs. Ahhh. Now I have the Blackberry bathbomb waiting by my bed, I'll try it soon It makes my room smell awesome too, though not as awesome as Twilight.
Bubble bars and Bath Melts are just as good if you want some bubbles instead, I've tried Creamy Candy Bubble Bar, as well as Melting Marshmallow, and they smell just as delicious as they sound! You can also cut the bubblebars up, and have multiple baths on each bar. Yay! (Lol can you tell I'm a little enthusiastic)...The Happy Blooming bathmelt (it looks kinda like a watermelon, can be cut into 3s), also smells amazing, just like cherries, softens your skin, and gives you 3 baths in 1 melt which is always good.
As for facemasks, If you have skin that's a little on the oily side, maybe some acne, I found that Cupcake worked wonders on it. Not only that, but it's like smearing chocolate icing on your face! haha. I've also tried Oatifix, which honestly smells divine, like fresh Oatmeal cookies. Oatifix is more for people with skin on the drier side I'd say. Brazened Honey doesn't really have a special smell in my opinion, but it works great for combination skin, has a good exfoliator and does its job. Sometimes I get free facemasks since I work right across from a LUSH in the mall.
For soap, i've only tried Porridge, which smelled great but kinda got all over my shower/was messy, so I won't be getting that again. I also tried Sultana of Soap which smells great too but I found it didn't give me a good enough lather.
Now Shower Jellies were a bit of a weird concept to me, but I tried Sweetie Pie and I am never turning back. Smells wonderful as always, like fruity berries. I take a little bit off the big gel piece and massage it into my loofah to make a lather, and then I scrub all over. It's wonderful and lasts pretty long.
I have tried Trichomania shampoo, which was not the best in my opinion but it was cool to try, same with Jungle conditioner. I was always curious about the solid shampoos but I found I had some residue using them, maybe I just wasn't doing it right. I definitely want to try the new Strokes Hair Treatment, looks as if it is getting some good reviews!
I definitely love the Ocean Salt cleanser. It lasted me forever and it smells like a Margarita. Definitely very refreshing for the face or any part of the body. It is definitely one of Lush's best products.
FInally (and I'm sure I am leaving a few things out lol :| addict here for sure), I've tried Celestial the moisturizer. I can tell it's gonna last me awhile, because you hardly have to use any to moisturize your whole face, AND it smells like fresh pancakes with icing sugar topping. Need I say more?
I am in Canada, and there is always a sticker saying who made it and on what date.
Enjoy your LUSH products, ladies (and gents).
PS, remember if you have 5 empty black pots (like from a facemask, moisturizer, the shower jellies, even the cleansers like ocean salt), you can bring them in and get a free facemask! | re: I'm PinUp and I'm a LUSH addict. en>fr fr>en By RingingPhone Comments: 3441, member since Thu Nov 10, 2005On Thu Jul 28, 2011 12:06 PM
Hmmm, I might have to check out some Lush skincare!
I've only used the bath bombs, and while they are nice, I'm not a huge bath person. I tried the solid shampoo a few years ago and hated it- it made my hair gucky. | re: I'm PinUp and I'm a LUSH addict. en>fr fr>en By ani81 Comments: 94, member since Tue Jun 28, 2011On Thu Jul 28, 2011 02:55 PM
LUSH is the only product I use on my skin.Occasionally I get free bath bombs as they cant sell the broken ones.
TIP:keep your bath bombs in your knicker drawer, your undies will smell lovely
TIP:Any bathbomb crumbs left over gather them up and put them in your hoover bag and your whole house will smell like LUSH | re: I'm PinUp and I'm a LUSH addict. en>fr fr>en By YumYumDoughnut Comments: 6544, member since Sat Jul 10, 2004On Thu Jul 28, 2011 08:04 PM
