Hi everyone! This is a picture of my dance team's new uniform. We are allowing some of our girls to wear a body liner underneath it if they are uncomfortable showing their stomachs (We are an adult team and have some fuller figured women). The problem we are having is trying to find the right color liners for our African American dancers- It seems all dance undergarments are for light skinned dancers!

Anyone have any idea where we can find them? They can be liners, leos, body tights, whatever!

Isn't it stupid how impossible it is to find this stuff? I taught a team that was mostly darker-skinned girls, and you're right - dance clothes are made for whities only. Kinda by accident, I found a Bali's outlet store, and the woman who worked there took care of all the underwear for all my girls - including body stockings. Like I said, I found that place by accident, but I'm going to assume that any underwear shop or any lingerie department at a higher-end department store should be able to either get them for you or tell you where you can find them.

I'm interested to see if anyone else has a more specific suggestion.

It really is kinda crazy! I'm Italian and Israeli, and you can see my skin tone in this picture- And even I have a hard time finding tights to match my skin...Crazy!

might be worth seeing if you could get them dyed? (somewhere that does things like shoes/dresses for weddings should be able to colour match and why not to skin

Y'know, I always joke that studio dance is for white girls. But you don't realize how true that actually is until you try to find a nude leo for a dark-skinned girl. That's just sad.
