any nursery rhyme song, you can make up your own actions/routine to go with it.
i.e. Twinkle Twinkle Little Star: use hand movements and simple port de bras to express the song |

Thanks everyone! I like to do one classical piece for warmup and one kids song. While I have tons of classical music, my kids songs are getting tired. I will look up those songs mentioned MissSharon...thank you!
If anyone else has any kids action songs... |

Well, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star is really a classical tune, thanks to Mozart, who composed to that tune a theme and 12 variations based on: "Ah! vous dirai-je, Maman," a French folk song... It's also Baa Baa Black Sheep's tune...
I don't do my warm-ups for Littles to recorded music. Instead we sing or chant or etc., sometimes together and sometimes with me taking the lead. There are a couple of exercises where I change tempo as we go, and some of the timing changes from week to week. It would drive an accompanist crazy (in fact, it did for a while...)!
Often I make up my own lyrics to classical (or other) melodies. That way you can customize your lyrics to the specific exercise, and you can choose whatever melody you wish. I find it works really well! |

After going through all of our positions for both our feet and arms, before we go across the floor i like to get them moving so they can get rid of some of their energy. I have my little ones at 9am on a Saturday! Patty Shulka has some really good songs! You can find her on youtube! Hope this helps! |

Just want to say thank you very much for the Patty Shulka suggestion. I hadn't heard of her and I downloaded "Stand Up, Sit Down." My 3-5 year olds love it! I'll be downloading more soon! |

Not a problem! All my kids love her songs and i have a ton of artists who sing songs like hers. Animal action is also a favorite, my kids even sing along now! I will try to put together a playlist of them on youtube, or get all the names and songs together for you all and put the link up so you may have them as well! They really grasp the kids attention. They love the follow alongs! |

I really would look into buying the 3 CDS from MusicWorks, "Dance Adventure 1, 2, & 3.. they have some great warmup songs on them! Especially Number 2! They are worth the money, out of anything I've bought on music works thus far! |
