I've basically had the same hair for 6-7 years now, and I want a change! First picture is my hair natural. It's a little wet in that picture, it gets frizzier as it dries. Second picture is my hair straightened, the length comes to about the middle of my back. This is my natural color, I've never dyed it.

My problem is that I like my hair at this length, but only when it's curly. This is almost the shortest length at which my hair doesn't turn into a triangle if I leave it curly, but I don't like it being so long when I straighten it. I blow-dry/straighten it pretty often in the fall/winter, but hate feeling like I HAVE to for it to look okay, which I do when it's much shorter.

I want a change, but I have no idea what to do! I'm open to color change, but it would have to be pretty subtle. I like bangs, but that leads to the have-to-straighten thing, which I don't want. What if I left it this length but got a lot of layers put in? I'm thinking that would make it look better straightened, because it'd have some shape and swing, but would it make it triangle-like when it was curly? I guess I just need advice on how to get my hair cut so that it looks good both curly and straight. Beyond that, I am really bored with it overall and would love any input on color or cut or anything. Thanks!!

Maybe think about a subtle change in the colour like a brown with a hint of red in it maybe? That wouldn't be too drastic but would give your hair a new kick of life in it, or maybe even a slightly lighter brown which I think would bring out your dark eyes

Alternatively maybe try parting your hair in the centre, a lot of people are doing this at the moment and I think it looks really nice, I can't do it at the moment because my front layers are too short and it looks silly

Also it might be worth looking through hair magazines for ideas and also going to your hairdressers and asking for their opinion, as they know what would suit you
