In this post (www.dance.net . . .) I asked for fabric advice for the pattern of the 1890 Dolman I had. Well, I had a little rummage and found this fabric, which I think does the job well. The dolman is fully lined with a dark pink satin. The front should have long slips, which I cut off, and in any other subsequent dolmans (if I ever make another) I will omit the extra space in the back. It was meant to accommodate a bustle & therefore utterly useless now. Anyway, I'm rather pleased with the way it turned out.

^I had an original 1890 pattern. Seeing that my waist isn't quite suitable to the other patterns, I figured that this loose garment at least would fit. It's funny how the sleeves seem way too short until you keep your arms in, which is the only way the dolman really sits well. It sure is a luxury garment, you couldn't do a bit of work in it.
