My first pair are dead and I'm going to get new ones soon before ballet starts again. I voted on On my first pair:)

I voted between 21-25. I was en pointe between the ages of 13 (almost 14) and 19 or so. The majority of the shoes were used during the last couple of years of dancing and during two SI's when I was 15 and 16. I'm have no idea if my number is correct, but I'd say it's somewhere around there.

Impossible to count, hundreds for sure.

11-13 pairs. I don't have the first pair, but I have all the rest. I started pointe when I was about 10-11. I then had to stop when I became the injury queen. I started pointe again when I was about 15-16. I am 20 now and have been through ten pairs since then.

I have been en pointe since last February and am on my 5th pair of shoes

Ive been en pointe for 3 months and Ive gone through 2 pairs of shoes.
Im currently on my 3rd.

This is my fourth year en pointe. I haven't done an si for the past two years because my mom doesn't want me becoming "too involved" in ballet. Because of this, my pointe shoe cycles have been going pretty slowly (about one pair per year, but at the end of the year, it's SO HARD to rise onto pointe because my shanks are soooo dead). I think I might go through two or three pairs this year though. We've just started doing pointe two times a week and for the full class versus only an hour each week. So yeah, on my fourth pair and definitely will have more piling up in my closet.

I'm guessing 14-16. I go through about 3-4 pairs each year, and I've been en pointe since I was 11... now I'm 17. That actually doesn't make sense. But I've had injuries in the past, with time off and some shoes last a while!

too many to count! ive been on for a little over 3 eyars, and i go through a pair of pointe shoes in a bout 1-1 1/2 weeks, and thats normal. when i attend summer intensives, half of the things i pack are pointe shoes (:

Pfft. Hundreds. I used to go through a pair in 2-3 weeks. I'll be getting back to that soon, unless I start wearing Gaynors or find a different (non-Chacott) shoe that fits my (weird) foot and has a REALLY hard box.

If any dancers have used pointe shoes that they do not wish to keep, I am looking for a pair. I am a senior this year and was assigned a capstone engineering project in which I must investigate a problem. My problem involves pointe. Please reply ASAP.

Like 5-6 pairs, I never really killed pointe shoes. They'd last almost a year.

Soo many dead shoes. I usually kill shoes every sixth months or so but during the summer intensives I kill at least a pair.. It all depends though. That's the sad part of working on shows all the time..
