I'm currently in the process of applying to grad schools here in Canada. Top choice is definitely The University of Western Ontario (handing in that app today) so wish me luck guys! Fingers crossed! They only accept about 6-12 people for my program so we'll just have to see. Totally nervous. |

Oh my gooooodness gracious I cannot wait till end of March/ beginning of April!
I hope W and M comes soon-ish because although it says online that they won't be out until all the other ones are, I've seen a couple people's Facebook statuses that they got in so... hopefully soon, and fingers crossed!
Didn't make it through for the UVA scholarship but I'm happy to have gotten to the semifinals because it was really competitive (the kid I was sitting in the waiting area with was talking about how he does volunteer AIDS research with a local physician and publishes a weekly newsletter for the organization he started... Oh and he plays the clarinet and is on swim team... Haha yeahhhh). Plus it's actually run by an independent foundation, not UVA, and there were a lot of strings attached, the big one being that you could only do one of the three summer study abroad programs that they run, and no study abroad during the school year. This was a big negative for me because I plan on studying in a Spanish-speaking country, as well as doing volunteer work, and I would like something with a medical focus, none of which were available in their 3 options. So yeah--free UVA would have been nice but it's in-state at least still, and I'm not too bothered.
Oh, and I got into Ursinus! It was my major backup and I almost didn't apply at all (only decided to because the essay was optional and it was a free app so why not?). But they offered me their biggest scholarship (30k per year!) so my dad said I at least should visit. Maybe I'll fall in love with it, who knows? But that was a nice little confidence booster as I gear up for end of March/ beginning of April I can't really get my hopes up because I applied to a lot of reaches, but we'll see!
Allietwinkletoes, when do you find out? Good luck!!
And wow, the English system is way different!
Good luck to everyone |
