Hey guys! Some of you are aware that I am finishing up my college degree this year. I need to start be collecting resources to use in my graduation paper, as well as continuing to accumulate and store resources for my personal future use.
What I'm hoping is that you dancers and dance educators out there can give me some specifics. It's not that I'n not finding ENOUGH by myself (I have 8 books from my uni's library on my desk at home, as well as an addition list of 5 that I will check out next). Rather, I am finding a lot of useful titles but would love to find more or hear what people have liked best. I'm looking for specific Titles and Authors for both books, journal articles, magazine articles, interviews...things that you think it is worth my time to track down (for this project or in the future for me to have), read, contemplate, and integrate into my development as a dance instructor. I request specific Titles and Authors, because I feel like someone would say "go read Dance Teacher magazine", to which I can say "I do read it, but has there ever been an article (or plural articles) that rise to the top: are the cream of the crop."
Perhaps there has been an author that has been overwhelmingly helpful that you eagerly await their next publication, or perhaps you found something in another field of study that can apply to dance. The only requirement is that it must apply, in some way, to dance teachers or the student/apprentice dynamic.
I have been keeping a tab on this old sticky:
www.dance.net . . ., however I don't feel the need to limit only to Ballet or only to books. I'm sure there are plenty of journal or magazine articles out there that are worth hanging onto.
