Beth has a new dress! - also made by Sue Breen who has now made the last 4 for her.

She is really pleased with it. This is the first one where Beth has been keen to input (including having her name on the sash) and she was ever so excited about getting it.

It is purple although looks darker in the pics - now I just hope we can keep the white clean!

I usually don't bother to comment on dress photos, but this dress is truly beautiful and is one of the loveliest I've seen in a long time, possibly ever.

Love the new dress. I like her name on the cape as well. I always put my daughter's initials on her capes. When we sell the dress I keep the cape and put one on w/o initials.

Its beautiful Gemma - its amazing how quick they grow. We are off up to Sue in 3 weeks to pick up my step daughters new one. Similar assymmetrical style to Beths but it irridescent teal, white and black. Did you do all the crystals?

by the way, isn't there some rule where you can't have identifying marks on your dress, or is that only marks, symbols, etc that indicate your school?

I double checked before hand, per the costume rulings on clrg (www.clrg.ie . . .)

7. All forms of dance school identification, be it by sign, shape, colour-piece, logo, or symbol be banned from all solo costumes worn by any competitor in any competition. Effective from 1st January 2011.

And Beth is not a well known dancer anymore (usually, correctly, in bottom half) so I can't see it having any effect on anyone, it was just something she wanted.

We had another one made at the same time with no name ready for when we sell the dress, and we get to keep this one as a momento.

clazfaz - unfortunately we are not doing the GB's this year, Beth is on a school sports tour to Barbados in the spring so we are saving travel funds for that!

VWID - yes I did all the crystals, a lot of hours but it looks great on stage so was worth it.

IrishLizzy - she is doing ok, we don't take it so seriously any more and after her year off she is not likely to get back to the top (and I don't think she wants to).

She has had a 3rd and 4th in small Open champs, although this weekend she was 15th she did not dance her best, she is roughly middle of the pack in Open champs.

She has said she really wants to go to the Worlds in Boston in 2013 (her first year), at the moment she is a way off being in a qualifying place so she needs to decide how much she wants it and if she is prepared to work for it between now and next years qualifiers

What a gorgeous dress! We love those colors as well as one of my daughters has a purple and gold dress. Sue Breen did such a nice job on the whole thing! Enjoy!
