I ordered some thigh high leg warmers because my studio is FREEZING in winter.. Do you/have you ever wear/worn long leg warmers? What do you think of them? Are they always slipping down your leg? Thank you 16 Replies to Thigh high leg warmers. Your opinions and advice please? |

They shouldn't slip down your leg because the wooly textured fabric of the legwarmer should stick to the fabric of your tights. I had a pair of really soft lavendar leg warmers that went just aboe my knee and they were great for cold days, when you take them off, you realize how cold the room is and how much heat they were holding in. |

They've worked great for me in cold studios in the winter. |

It depends...I've had some that no matter what tights I wear, they're at my ankles after one plie. Those are now dust rags |

Mine slip constantly. I've taken to wearing knit pants-style legwarmers.... |

I haven't had a problem with long legwarmers falling down if you get them from a dance store. (For example, these are good: www.discountdance.com . . .)
I do have a pair of lululemon legwarmers, but in general they're very loose -- even in the foot area. They definitely fall down all the time and I usually end up taking them off by the middle of barre. |

i absolutely LOVE thigh high leg warmers, they dont fall down at all as they stick to your tights pretty well. They give your legs a longer, thinner look too |

Mine are a tad too tight (OSFA, darn you) but stay up wonderfully and are always around in the winter- especially because I don't always get a full warm-up before rehearsal. |

I love thigh-high socks and leg warmers! The key is getting a pair that's not tight around the thighs, which makes them roll down more easily. You also want there to be plenty of negative ease at the top so that they grip a little and don't fall down. |

The ones I own have elastic in the upper edge, and that keeps them in place pretty well. I have a pair of Bloch legwarmers and a pair I knitted myself. The ones I made myself just have elastic thread woven through the edge, but I think on the next attempt I will add a little extra length to fold over an actual piece of elastic and sew down, which is how the Bloch ones are made.
It wouldn't be hard to add elastic to an existing pair of legwarmers. If they're slightly too long anyway, you can try the above, or simply baste it to the inside at the top and bottom of the elastic strip. |

I have a few pairs. I like them and they do the job, esp in the fall and winter months. Never had a problem with them slipping down. |

I love thigh high legwarmers. There is elastic on top with a plastic strip on the inside, so they don't really slip. |

I NEED thigh-high legwarmers for an old injury... unfortunately, when I decided to order a pair finally, DDS decided that they had to be backordered. I have yet to receive them... but reading this post is great and got me excited for them all over again! Hopefully they don't slip around; I was wondering that same thing when I ordered. |

I always wear high legwarmers. Well, almost always. Did you get the stirrup legwarmers or the regular ones? I have the stirrup. Mine are from Body Wrappers. |
