Here is my new dress, with the first layer of crystals added. I'm still going to add some smaller crystals on the knotwork, and perhaps some purple crystals scattered on the bodice.
I love the way it dances, and I'm really happy with the way it turned out. 8 Replies to New Dress, New Look |

It's very elegant and pretty. Is it a two piece? |

It's very light to dance in- the top is velvet, but the skirt is two layers of chiffon, a layer of satin, a layer of glitterdot material, and a layer of lace.
The funny thing is that this is the end result of what I started last year in updating my three panel dress. Molly Bennet of Knotwork to Me made the skirt, with another layer of blue sparkle fabric on top to go with the bodice of my three panel. This summer when I went to put the bodice on for my first competition back after having Alex, I couldn't zip it up, so I asked Molly to finish the new dress by removing the blue sparkle netting, and making the velvet top.
Some people in my school are wondering if I'm going to keep getting new dresses one half of a dress at a time, but I'm hoping that this one will last me a good three years before I need to update again. |
