^Heya! I did 5.3 maths when I was in Yr 10. (I'm doing Yr 12 Mathematics now-just starting)
Just wondering, but does your school have access to mathsonline? It has tutorials on bearings and some worksheets you can work through. It's a great website, so definitely if you have access to that it will be very helpful.
Also what textbook do you have? Some textbooks have good explaining parts in them, and you can work through their worked examples and then the questions to self teach if that's the case.
So the first thing to know with bearings is how to read true bearings and directional bearings. True bearings work around in a clockwise direction, so there are always 1-360 degrees. So if a bearing is 60 T, it will be in the first quadrat (upper right). However, the directional bearing are like S 60 W, which means you go to the South line and then 60 to the West, so you would be in quadrat 3 (bottom left). This is the same as 240 T.
That's the most important thing to grasp so you can draw the lines in questions in the right spot to form the triangles to then solve with SOH CAH TOA or sine/cosine (I think sine/cosine is only Yr 11 onwards though?).
But yeah, PM me and I might be able to help some more. Of course, have you asked your teacher to recap you quickly cause that's the easiest? Or borrowed someone's theory book to copy the explantory notes? Also you should drop me a line anyway and tell me what subbies you're doing in yr 11 and what yr 10 subjects you're dying to drop

Good luck in the SC!
