God, I wish! It would be better than this blasted grad school thing while working full time...

I don't take DDN seriously - it's just a fun message board to me. Lighten up.

Well apparently, those members are semi-illiterate because according to Jon, SHE'S NOT GOING ANYWHERE. She's still going to read the boards and correspond via PM.

Thanks for making that clear. In my case, make it old and blind, not illiterate. Somehow, I missed Jon's post.

I'll definitely notice the absence of your posting...but I was freaking out till I read you'd still answer PMs and that.

I can't imagine my life pre DDN! Fun fact- I've been a member here for MORE than half my life.

How very sad. I hope that your life goes in the direction that works best for you. Life is full of twists and turns. Those who survive, allow them to happen and deal with them. Hugs.

I've decided not to audition this year due to injury that happened late last night. I have been training all year for these auditions, and basically super upset that I hurt myself . My left hip just can't take the constant stress of dancing/acrobatics anymore. I see a dance retirement future coming up pretty close because of my hip :(

I was supposed to be on the downlow for all social networking sites, but I just wanted to let you guys know that I will be around participating in non controversial topics on DDN, incase my dance future is prolonged with a dance company.

I'm so sorry you are hurt. I hope it turns out to be not as bad as you think.

So sorry about your injury, and I hope it heals soon. Hopefully when it's better, you can still pursue your dreams. *hug*

OH GOD, I DO love unnecessary drama! I especially love a big, unnecessarily dramatic DDN exit. And this one took the cake. It truly was the biggest, most unnecessarily dramatic DDN exit in recent memory. I just love it when people announce that they're leaving and then they don't go anywhere. Kudos.

What the heck, Panic? We got a valid reason that she stopped participating on DDN (and it wasn't running off in a huff, either, it was a genuine thank you) and she's giving a valid reason to come back. What is your problem and why are you being SO unnecessarily douchey?

Actually, she didn't stop participating. And obviously, she never even auditioned for the team - which was the reason she said she was leaving. The entire scenario was fabricated. That's what I meant by "unnecessary drama".

Because I too know what's going on, if you guys think she's trying to stir up drama, why post? To add to the "drama"?! Y'all don't have better things to do? Pass on by unless you have something constructive to add.

With the auditions 3 months away, injuries need time to fully heal. My husband and I are living proof of that. We kept going when our bodies told us "no", as a result, we both have bodies of 50-60 year olds. So, obviously YYD can't keep training with her injury and when her doctor does say she can resume training, rehabilitating takes time. Not a week or 2, but months. After I got the go ahead to run again after my hysterectomy and gall bladder, it still took me 2 months to get back to where I was. So, if her injury puts her out for a month, it could take her a 2-3 months to rehab her body to it's prime condition.

What she was going to go for is extremely difficult to do and would put her in the public eye. The organization tells their members to minimize social networking and what not in order to protect their image.

Something i've noticed, people seem "biased" against certain members, ALWAYS trying to find something in their posts to jump on them for, why is that? Jealousy? Boredom with your own life? It seems whenever YYD posts, she seems to get attacked in some way. I saw NOTHING inflammatory with her post, she was simply saying she had something personal going on and thanking everyone who has made an impact in her life. But everyone is soooo keen to find out what the drama is, what she messed up now, what she's covering up, etc. If you want to know sooooooo bad, PM her. Although, with the amount of rudeness in some of the posts from users on this thread, I wouldn't tell you anything if I were her.

In the spirit of not adding to the drama, I will just keep this message to the point.

It seems like some people want to know the story so here it goes.

I tried out for a professional dance team last year and made it the semi-finals. I was basically told what I needed to do to make the team this year, and what they were looking for. ( There were 400+ girls who tried out, I made it to the final 75ish. Didn't make the final number of 32)

During preparation week for the finals, we were told what was expected of us. This included laying low on social networking. ( which DDN is). I was under the assumption that they didn't want us posting anything controversial or scandalous in order to protect their image.

Around the time I was considering leaving DDN, I was contacted by the mods regarding the fact that there had been some questions regarding the legitimacy of my boyfriends multiple careers. After given proof of these concerns from a few members, I thought it would be the perfect time to leave.
( This is where the previous "drama" came from on the thread that Cien mentioned. I spoke to a few members about the whole bf thing, and because I posted this "have to leave for dancing contracts" during similar times, there was an overlap).I am accused of drama, lying about my life, my intent of posting on a monthly basis. It would be stupid to assume I left over *this* particular BF drama that didn't involved the majority of DDN. If I left at ANY time, it could be seen as a hissy fit because I am always battling against accusations on a monthly basis.

Because the boyfriend accusations only involved a few members, I wanted to thank the majority of DDN for being super helpful to me. I wanted to leave temporary on good terms and let everyone know that I have enjoyed their company. I didn't want to bring any negative energy into this positive thread about how much you guys impacted my life. Plus, this BF thing isn't what lead me to leave DDN. It just gave me a good push to take the break that I was supposed to take in the first place. T

I had to leave anyways to fulfill what I thought was the whole "lay low" thing. After speaking to a few people who has worked closely with dancers, I found out that they meant using public networking sites like a normal user. So for example, don't post a picture of me giving a BJ to someone at a party etc.

With the whole concern about my not being truthful about my boyfriend and fulfilling the whole "lay low" thing, I thought November was a great time to leave. I was already putting off leaving DDN, so the concerns about the boyfriend gave me that push to leave temporary. Therefore that is why I never mentioned it in the first place until now. Me leaving for the "real" reason ( dancing contracts) was the most important thing.

Auditions were to be held in March of this year. I recently injured my hip and I was told by the doctor that I should stay off of it for about 6 weeks. I have been having joint issues recently in the first place, so I thought it would be unwise to auditions this year and put anymore stress on my hips.

Because I decided not to audition due to a recent injury, I thought coming back to DDN was a good idea. As I said, I left on good terms with the majority of members and I enjoy conversations on DDN.

I know that some members are probably going to be like " see, you hid the bf drama for us". The point is, I never mentioned the BF mod reports because they had no weight on whether I was leaving or staying. I was getting ready to write a "goodbye temporary letter" that morning anyways, when I got the PM.

The only reason I mentioned the BF accusations in THIS message is because there was a hint of it at the start of the thread. I just wanted to clear up any confusions that members might have had because of that mention. By the time I asked my friend to delete her message, Cien already got a hold of it.

So in a nutshell, there was no "covering a big opps" or "saying cyrptic things" or "fabricating a story" in this thread. I had to leave due to dance auditions in March, and since I got injured I am not dancing anymore. The BF thing mentioned at the start of this thread, shouldn't have even come up in the first place. It had no relevance to this thread at all.
