Hey,

While stretching to get into the side-splits I keep on getting some kind of hip-pain.It feels like bone is touching bone or something, i also can be wrong. Fact is, thats its pretty uncomfortable and hurts, although the pain doesnt stay when i get out of the stretch. What could help? Does anyone know what I mean?Is it still lack of flexibility or is just my hip placement wrong? i would appreciate honest answers =).

Your hip bones could be rubbing together. I would get it checked out by your doctor.

I had/have that problem too. It worried me to the point where I didn't want to stretch anymore in fear to damage anything, so I just went to the hospital and got an x-ray of my hip, asking the doctor if I should keep stretching for the splits or just give up because the bone structure was in the way... the x-ray didn't show anything wrong with my bones or hip socket, I just learned that my ligaments on the inside of the hip are pretty tight. With the ok from a doctor I went back to stretching and I'm currently working towards my side splits. Don't know if it will ever happen, but I know that it's safe to try.
